Another WWE Wrestler Joining MMA
Bobby Lashley is the latest pro wrestler to join the world of MMA. Scrubsports.com is again the 1st to break this news. If you remember they were the 1st to break the news of the WCO show being cancelled. Lashley hasn't appeared on WWE camera's for months now and should've been back a long time ago. Fans wondered what happened to him and just today, I received word that he is done with the WWE and has been training MMA in hopes of landing a contract somewhere. God help us all!

EXCLUSIVE: WCO Promoter Explains His Full Side Of The Story
With the unfortunate cancellation Saturday of the World Cagefighting Organization show billed "The Return" many people were left scratching their heads wondering how the organizers of this event could let it happen. While many questions still remained unaswered at this point, MMANews.com had a chance to sit down and chat with WCO promoter Bruce Bellochi on Monday evening to discuss where things went wrong and to my surprise there appears more was going on behind the scenes than one may have expected.

Loiseau vs Day set for HCF 'Destiny' on Feb. 1
A middleweight bout between former UFC middleweight championship contender David “The Crow” Loiseau and Jason “Dooms” Day has been added to the card at Hardcore Championship Fighting “Destiny” on Friday, Feb. 1 at The Stampede Corral in Calgary, Alberta. Montreal native Loiseau (15-7) was set to face Leopoldo Serao at a World Cagefighting Organization event in San Diego, Calif., on Jan. 12, but the show was cancelled six hours before its start time by the California State Athletic Commission. Day (14-5), meanwhile, earned a slick submission victory over UFC veteran Jonathan Goulet at Ultimate Cage Wars 8 on June 23 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Unbeaten in his last three outings, the win over Goulet put the Lethbridge, Alberta rep on the radar. Day has won eight of his last nine fights, the lone setback a TKO loss to Patrick Cote at TKO 29 in June.

Saraiva was warned for a kick in the opening exchange that caught Martinez low. After a brief respite, the PFC champion was ready to continue.

Brad Imes Talks Gogoplatas, Tonight’s PFC Event — An MMAjunkie.com Interview
LEMOORE, CALIF. — Brad Imes (10-3 MMA, 0-3 UFC) used to be known for his stint on the UFC’s popular reality show, “The Ultimate Fighter.” Now, the heavyweight fighter, who competes at tonight’s Palace Fighting Championships’ “Retreat Surrender” event, is known for two memorable submission victories. Imes fought his way into the “TUF 2” finals, where he lost to eventual heavyweight winner Rashad Evans, and after losing his next two UFC fights (to Dan Christison and Heath Herring), the UFC released him. He then left the spotlight to fight in smaller organizations. He’d soon find the spotlight again, though, when he became one of a handful of professional fighters to finish an opponent via the ever-rare and elusive gogoplata.

411's MMA Roundtable 1.14.08: 2007 - A Year to Remember
Fans would be hard-pressed to find a twelve-month stanza in Mixed Martial Arts history filled with as many memorable moments as 2007. Dubbed by many as "The Year of the Upset", the MMA world would bear witness to multiple "Fight of the Year" candidates, phenomonal individual performances, underdogs overcoming the odds, and countless other memorable moments inside arenas from coast-to-coast. The past year also brought forth the creation of 411Mania's MMA Zone. What started out as a handful of Mixed Martial Arts enthusiasts bombarding the board with original content and news bits soon morphed into one of 411Mania's most popular areas. Now featuring fresh submissions on a daily basis from a pool of talented MMA writers, an increasing score of exclusive interviews, and a constantly-updated news section, it stands to reason 2008 should be an even more-successful year.

Finger Pointing Replaces Fights
At least Mark Kerr got his 20 percent. While "The Smashing Machine" had planned on collecting $15,000 Saturday night, he like his opponent and 16 other mixed martial artists learned they wouldn't fight because promoters failed to provide sufficient funds. Problems first surfaced Friday evening after Rick Bassman, the promoter of record, informed the California State Athletic Commission that money had not been secured to pay fighters. Bassman, who has promoted several Valor Fighting shows in California, said World Cagefighting Organization's Bruce Bellocchi hired him to use his promoter's license and to produce the event and perform administrative functions.

Breaking News: Saturday's WCO Event Cancelled
Saturday's Valor promoted World Cagefighting Organization card at the San Diego Sports Arena has been cancelled by the California State Athletic Commission due to funding issues, Sherdog.com learned Saturday afternoon. Problems arose Friday evening after the CSAC learned that funding had not been secured to pay the athletes who were to compete on the card. "At the eleventh hour, the commission was informed there were insufficient funds to pay the fighters," CSAC executive director Armando Garcia told Sherdog.com. "In the end, we had to cancel the event."

Although the Japanese World Victory Road promotion announced Phil Baroni for it's March 5 event, that announcement seems to be premature. Baroni's manager said such a deal has not been signed and they're still weighing a number of offers.
