Eddie Alvarez's striking coach believes Conor McGregor could beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. in boxing.
After watching him up close at UFC 205, Mark Henry, the striking coach for Eddie Alvarez, believes Conor McGregor is a "once in a lifetime" fighter. "You cannot teach somebody how to swing like that," Henry told RJ Clifford on The Luke Thomas Show. "It takes hips, it takes a certain shoulder, it takes a flick of the wrist, there are so many tiny mechanics. What it takes to make an eyeball work is what it takes to make the perfect swing. Like Babe Ruth. I just compare Conor - his swing - to Babe Ruth. I always watch tape of it but to be that close and watch it was a whole other thing. "It comes along once in a lifetime or once every hundred years or what not. I think God has just blessed him with a swing that I'll probably never see again. Before this fight, I would highly doubt him fighting Mayweather, but I think this dude can take out Mayweather. I'm not even joking."

Weidman suggests Romero ‘shouldn’t be fighting anymore’
Fresh from his UFC 205 defeat at the hands of Yoel Romero, Chris Weidman - accompanied by Stephen Thompson - spoke to the media backstage at Madison Square Garden. Weidman was asked if Romero deserved to now challenge UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping for the belt. “He just put in a good performance against me,” said Weidman, hinting that Romero had done enough to earn the shot. However, Weidman did expose some doubts over whether Romero, or any fighter who had been banned for PEDs, should still be allowed to compete. “I just feel like they shouldn't be fighting anymore,” opined Weidman, siding with views previously expressed by Bisping. “A lot of guys I fought in the past have failed for steroids, a good majority of my last six fights.”

Tyron Woodley reluctantly loans UFC belt to Dana White to present to Conor McGregor at UFC 205
Awkward. A new rivalry between Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and now multi-division title holder, Conor McGregor, seemed to be budding during this week in New York City after the two had a couple of confrontations in "The Empire State." So when company president Dana White asked "The Chosen One" to loan him his belt for a hot minute in order to present a second title to Conor inside the Octagon after disposing of Eddie Alvarez in the main event (see it again here), Woodley put his bitterness toward Conor aside to oblige. Though he wasn’t exactly thrilled.

McGregor on potential bouts with Khabib, Woodley
Conor McGregor is now the UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, the first person to ever accomplish such a feat. Eddie Alvarez is in the rear-view mirror. So what's next for "The Notorious." First, McGregor is going to be busy with the birth of his first child in May. After that, he said UFC and WME-IMG brass must offer him a share of the company for him to compete again. When all is said and done and McGregor is ready to get back into the Octagon, though, there are a list of opponents lining up for him. Two possible opponents are Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tyron Woodley. McGregor got into verbal altercations with both of them before the UFC 205 ceremonial weigh-ins Friday.

Conor McGregor demands UFC ownership stake after claiming second title
Conor McGregor had an announcement to make after becoming the first simultaneous two-weight-class champion in UFC history on Saturday night: He's going to become a father. "I'm going to be a daddy early next year," the UFC lightweight and featherweight champion said during the UFC 205 post-fight press conference at New York's Madison Square Garden. "I'm crapping my jocks, it's messing with my head." With a family to feed, McGregor has decided it's time to really cash in. His second-round knockout of Eddie Alvarez to claim the lightweight belt in the main event of UFC 205 capped the event which drew the biggest gate in the illustrious history of the world's most famous fight venue: UFC 205 drew a reported gate of $17.7 million, topping the record of $13.5M set by Evander Holyfield vs. Lennox Lewis in 1999. And while the bombastic Irishman has certainly reaped financial benefits for his exploits, he wants more: With the company selling for an eye-popping $4.2B to Hollywood entertainment conglomerate WME-IMG this summer, McGregor bluntly stated that he want's what's his. "If you want to come at me, if you want me to stick around and help service that debt and continue to push the company, bring me on board, for real," McGregor said. "I need to be set for life for this. If you want me to be truly on on board, then I need to be all-in on this proper, as an owner, and have an equity stake in the company. That's what I'm looking for."

Sterling on verbal confrontation with Cerrone: ‘It’s just not going down like that‘
The Top 10 ranked bantamweight had some comments regarding the “uncomfortable“ statements made by Cerrone. During a joint appearance on The MMA Hour on Monday, the Long Island trio of Gian Villante, Al Iaquinta and Aljamain Sterling closed out the show with a long segment filled with hijinks. Many items were discussed, including their upcoming fights as well as the forthcoming UFC 205, for which they offered their predictions. Yet when the topic turned to Donald Cerrone vs Kelvin Gastelum, Villante was surprised at Sterling’s choice as Sterling favored Cerrone to win. Sterling “I’m going with Cerrone. He had that liver thing...” Villante: “You ARE?!” Helwani: “What happened?” “Cerrone almost beat up Al - I mean Alj... (breaks into laughter)” Helwani then asked for clarification as to what took place between Cerrone and Sterling, which Sterling delved into after some prodding, recounting an incident that took place at a promotional event (at around 4:00:40).

Jon Jones releases statement regarding his one-year suspension
Jon Jones wanted to be back in the cage sooner, but was happy the decision acknowledged he didn't knowingly cheat. The UFC interim light heavyweight champion released a statement Monday following the decision came down from arbitrators that Jones would be suspended one year in his USADA doping case. The crux of the arbitrators' decision was that Jones was "reckless" in taking a sexual-performance pill given to him by a teammate and didn't do enough to comply with the UFC anti-doping policy. In the statement, Jones said he was "hopeful for a better outcome," but happy he was cleared of intentionally taking performance-enhancing drugs.
