A "Big" Move-McCarthy Retires, Heading To Broadcast Booth
(sherdog.com)Legendary MMA referee "Big" John McCarthy retired as an official today, ending a 13-year career that began at UFC 2. He will now work as a commentator/broadcaster for The Fight Network, but will continue lending his officiating expertise to the sport.
All the best to Big John, he's going to do an excellent job broadcasting but it won't be the same in UFC without "Let's Get It On!" before a couple fights every event.

“Big” John McCarthy, who has been a referee since UFC 2 in 1994, will work the main event of The Ultimate Fighter finale on Saturday between Roger Huerta and Clay Guida and then announce his retirement.

Tito Ortiz to fight in May?

Hansen to Zuffa: ‘Soul not for sale’

Zuffa LLC, parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, officially released Hansen (15-6-1) from his contract last month, a contract it inherited with its purchase of PRIDE Fighting Championships on March 27. The Norwegian lightweight did not mince words when it came to discussing the Las Vegas-based promotion.
“I just hope people understand that the problems [with Zuffa] weren’t about the money,” Hansen said. “It was about them treating me with honor and keeping their word. I would rather fight for free, then to bend down to them. My soul is not for sale.”
Aleks Emelianenko in Bar Fight; Mistaken for Hoodlum

After alost ten years away from the sport, it's understandable that fans where sceptic of the Russian Bear's return to MMA, but he did not dissapoint. Oleg wins in his return bout with yet another kneebar. This former UFC champion is hailed by most as one of the greatest and toughest fighters from the first generation of fighters, and although a Couture-like career is unlikely, the return of Oleg Taktarov is welcomed by all.
ps. Oleg recently had a boxing match with none other that Dolph Lungrend.
Huerta Featured On FHM Website
