Nogueira's trainer: Sylvia Cheated
(mmafightline.com)
Luiz Alves, the muy thai trainer for Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, was recently interviewed by the Brazilian news site tatame.com and has made some interesting remarks concerning “Big Nog’s” recent victory over Tim Sylvia. Alvez made the claim during his interview that “the Americans” were using baby cream which would not become slippery until it came in contact with sweat If his claims are valid it will be interesting to see what course of action the UFC will take to punish this sort of behavior, or to prevent this sort of foul from being committed in the future.

Another WWE Wrestler Joining MMA
Bobby Lashley is the latest pro wrestler to join the world of MMA. Scrubsports.com is again the 1st to break this news. If you remember they were the 1st to break the news of the WCO show being cancelled. Lashley hasn't appeared on WWE camera's for months now and should've been back a long time ago. Fans wondered what happened to him and just today, I received word that he is done with the WWE and has been training MMA in hopes of landing a contract somewhere. God help us all!

More Pro Wrestling
(bloodyelbow.com)
TNA has made a business deal with UFC regarding promotion of UFC's 2/2 PPV show, and in particular the Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir match. Details aren't known, but it is expected there will be heavy advertising of the next UFC during the TNA shows over the next two weeks. In addition, during the body of the shows will be hype packages to build up the match. Next week's Impact will include a Brock Lesnar training package, as well as a Kurt Angle interview, where he breaks down the Lesnar vs. Mir match. Great idea for UFC, TNA has 1.5 million wrestling fans watching every week. It's hard to say if it means anything for the future, but it may pave the way for that eventual Kurt v. Brock fight that was much talked about in the past.

MMA Legend Randy Couture to Host Charity Poker Tournament
(eog.com)
Another year, another laundry list of celebrity charity poker tournaments. The first one of the new year, we think, is "Operation All In," which takes place next week, January 12, and will be hosted by UFC fighter Randy Couture at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. "Celebrities" scheduled to attend are 2005 WSOP Main Event champion Jamie Gold and "Superman" TV star Dean Cain. Others can join the festivities for $550, which gets you a seat at one of the 15 tables and an opportunity to watch one of the more fascinating portions of a celebrity poker event, rebuying for charity. The rebuys are $200 and are an excuse for everyone in attendance to play really bad poker and claim that they are doing it so that they can rebuy and add to the amount going to charity.
