LEONARD GARCIA ARRESTED IN TEXAS
(mmaweekly.com)
Current World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight Leonard Garcia was arrested on Tuesday in connection with an investigation into an alleged drug trafficking ring, according to a report by KCBD in Lubbock, Tex. Garcia was arrested for his alleged connection with the cocaine ring. When contacted for comment, Garcia’s manager, Sven Bean said, “It was a shock to me. It definitely came out of left field. I’ve talked with his family and I’ve had one phone conversation with his lawyer. We’re just letting him do his job at this point. Hopefully, we’ll know more as the days progress.” According to the report, authorities arrested a total of 13 suspects after a four-year investigation into the drug ring that allegedly ran from El Paso to Hub City. The report specifically named Garcia, identifying him as a mixed martial artist and Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran. None of the other suspects were identified in the report. If convicted, three of the suspects could face up to 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine, while the others arrested could face life in prison and up to a $4 million dollar fine.

Arbitration hearing lifts curtain on backstage world of the UFC
(canadianpress.google.com)
A contract offer scrawled on a blue Post-it note. A disgruntled fighter. A manager whose cut is one-third. A powerful promoter in hardball negotiations to tie up a young heavyweight star. The California State Athletic Commission arbitration hearing into the dispute between mixed martial arts heavyweight Brandon (The Truth) Vera and his former manager, Mark Dion, lifts a corner of the curtain on the backstage world of the UFC. The San Diego hearing came about as a result of Vera's desire to get out of his management contract with Dion because he was irate at an alleged misrepresentation of a UFC signing bonus. This week, Dion posted the 135-page transcript of the arbitration hearing on his website, as well as the arbitrator's ruling and a slew of exhibit documents. Privately owned by billionaire brothers Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta and outspoken president Dana White, the UFC does not like talking money. But the Vera hearing sheds some light on UFC contract negotiations, suggesting that the battles outside the cage can be just as hard-nosed.

Zombie Strippers: Tito Ortiz and girlfriend Jenna Jameson to appear in movie
(mmamania.com)
The self-proclaimed power couple is at it again. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz and his girlfriend Jenna Jameson are set to appear in a new movie dubbed, “Zombie Strippers,” which is “coming soon to DVD.” That’s never a good sign. Ortiz plays a bouncer at an underground Nebraska strip club that is tainted with a virus that turns its talent into reanimated corpses. And, unsurprisingly, Jameson is one of the infected strippers (no pun intended, seriously). Check out the video trailer after the jump. (And i seriously suggest you do!)

Matt Lindlnd's resume is impressive: a 20-5 career MMA record, former UFC middleweight contender, International Fight League coach, Olympic silver medalist, two-time Pan-American champion. Kim Couture To Make MMA Debut April 5
(sports.yahoo.com)
Kim Couture is set to make her MMA debut on April 5 in Chael Sonnen’s fight promotion, the Full Contact Fighting Federation. Her opponent, Jessica Cruz, will also be making her MMA debut. While this isn't exactly huge news, I thought some people may be interested. I've read on a few forums that people say she is not interested in moving into MMA so here's the proof that she is. Considering what she showed in her smoker fight, this could turn out badly. By the way, If this has been posted before then I apologize. I used the search feature and nothing came up so I decided to go ahead and post it.

Tarded Reality Show Concept of the Day, Part 2
(cagepotato.com)
You think Fighting Fedor is a bad idea? Ho, baby. From a new press release on Reuters.com: Rodrigo and Crosley Gracie have decided to co-produce a reality television show of mixed martial arts, combined with the Gracie Jiu Jitsu flavor, and a little drama. [Ed. note: Rodrigo and Crosley are cousins, and grandsons of Carlos Gracie.]

The reality show is based on true life grudges. Imagine a famous face knocking on your door. He/she shows you a photo. “Do you know who this is?” You know exactly who it is. He/she is the person with whom you have a grudge to settle. Then, without a clue as to where you are going, you are whisked off to an undisclosed location where you will be trained by one of the world famous Gracie Jiu Jitsu family members. Did you know that the person in the photo is also receiving the same treatment? Did you know that now is the chance to “Settle Your Grudge?” “It gives me great pleasure to bring this show to you, despite any controversy that may arise. At the end of the day, we are all humans, we’ve all had grudges, and they all need to be settled to bring closure to real the life drama that leaves us perplexed every day” boasts [executive producer] Stacey “O”. Episodes in production include: Cop vs. Con; Bouncer vs. Bounced; Biker vs. Nerd; Husband vs. x-Boyfriend; Manager vs. Employee; Old Bully vs. the Bullied; Teacher vs. Student; and Old vs. Young.
