‘Minotauro’ Nogueira: ‘I Have Done a Total of 22 Surgeries’
Revered for his amazing capacity to recover from serious damage, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira spent the final years of his career trying to avoid the subject with the media. Few could deny that Nogueira’s passion for the sport dwarfed all the injuries he suffered, and he resisted for years repeated calls for him to retire. Not anymore. During a roundtable discussion promoted by Dr. Marcio Tannure at the 2015 Rio Sports & Health conference in Rio de Janeiro on Oct. 18, Nogueira talked openly about his injury history....

Dana White calls Dublin 'the best fight town on the planet'
UFC president Dana White is quick to praise any fight town which shows up and droves and pays big money for one of his events. So you generally have to take his words with a grain of salt. But, given Saturday's UFC Fight Night 76 card in Dublin sold out in five minutes, then an enthusiastic crowd still showed up at 3Arena and made noise throughout a card which lost it's main event and co-main event, maybe White, an Irishman from Boston, means it this time...

Louis Smolka played spoiler in Ireland when he topped Dublin native Paddy Holohan by second-round submission in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 76 main event. Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson: Jon Jones 'bad for the sport' of MMA
Jon Jones has been cleared to return to the UFC, and it seems his first fight back will likely be for the title he lost when stripped by the promotion for disciplinary reasons. But one fellow UFC superstar doesn’t seem exactly thrilled to have him back in the cage. “Honestly, I think that Jon Jones is bad for the sport because when he fights people, he injures us,” former UFC light heavyweight champ Quinton Jackson told AXS TV. “He kicked my knee backwards. My knee is never the same.”

Beyond the Octagon: Fedor's rumored opponent wins MMA bout
So we've lost a Dustin Poirier fight, but I'm going to turn that collective frown upside-down. How you ask? Jaideep Singh is how! Kickboxing champion Jaideep Singh, who won the 2009 K-1 Grand Prix in Seoul, popped into headlines recently as a rumored opponent for Fedor Emelianenko, rather dampening what excitement there was for Emelianenko's return to the ring. Since then, however, Emelianenko's former manager has suggested that Singh couldn't possibly be the true opponent for "The Last Emperor." And now, perhaps not coincidentally, Singh has appeared at last weekend's Deep 73 Impact.

Joseph Duffy Out of UFC Fight Night Dublin, Holohan-Smolka Moved to Main Event
Joseph Duffy suffered a mild concussion during training and has been forced to withdraw from his UFC Fight Night Dublin headliner against Dustin Poirier, promotion officials announced Wednesday. "Having learned that Duffy received a strike to the head during training earlier this week, UFC sent him for medical tests in Ireland for precautionary purposes. The results determined that Duffy suffered a mild concussion and due to the proximity of the fight this Saturday, UFC will not permit him to compete,” the statement read. “The health and safety of UFC athletes will continue to be the top priority for the organization. As such, UFC has respected standard athletic commission regulations, which recommend a medical suspension from competition as a result of the concussion.” As a result of the injury, a flyweight clash between Patrick Holohan and Louis Smolka has been promoted to the main event. UFC Fight Night takes place at the 3Arena and airs in its entirety on Fight Pass beginning at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT. Holohan vs. Smolka will be a three-round headliner.
