Chuck interview talks possible Shogun fight.
(sportsillustrated.cnn.com)
SI.com: Just trying to throw you off your game. So what's next for you? Have you been told your next opponent?
Liddell: Possibly Mauricia "Shogun" Hua. That's what they're saying. If it's the June fight, it will probably be in London. But my trainer is trying to get it moved to Vegas. Too far. (Liddell is based in San Luis Obispo, Calif.)
SI.com: It was no secret you wanted that fight against Silva. Who do you want now?
Liddell: Rampage [Quinton Jackson, who defeated Liddell last summer.] I want that fight again.
Apocalypse Now, as WWE Meets UFC

Brock Lesnar (Pictures) is headlining a UFC card.
No, MMA has not turned into Bizarro world, and as far as I know, the end is not nigh. However, the former WWE poster boy and questionable tattoo connoisseur is making his UFC debut against Frank Mir (Pictures) in a match that elicits as much head scratching as headshaking.
Don't give up just yet, though. This card delivers the goods with an interim title bout between PRIDE refugee Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira and the MMA community's favorite punching bag, Tim Sylvia (Pictures).
Throw in the long-awaited return of Ricardo Almeida (Pictures) as well as the ongoing Tyson Griffin "Fight of the Year" tour, and you've got what shapes up to be a solid night of fistic entertainment.
Besides, don't tell me you don't want to see the look on Lesnar's face when he realizes that the running lariat isn't viable in MMA.
Nice breakdown of all the fights on the UFC 81 card, plus some great humor (had me Laughing out Loud a couple of times), worth checking out for sure.

Their reality show follows their efforts - and antics - as they chose the latest fighter to sponsor. Members of the Tapout crew were recently featured on a recent CNBC documentary focusing on the MMA industry. The Feb. 8 WCF event takes place just 13 miles north of Boston off of I-93.

NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer Discusses Year-Round Drug Testing
(mmajunkie.com)Earlier this month the Nevada State Athletic Commission issued a memo detailing new drug-testing procedures — procedures that could have a major impact on the use of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs by MMA fighters.
Keith Kizer is the executive director of the NSAC, which is generally considered the most powerful state athletic commission in all of combat sports. His memo sent a very clear message: MMA fighters are subject to drug testing at any time — for just about any reason — throughout the year, regardless of whether or not the fighter is scheduled for an upcoming event.
Basically, testing is now done year-round, and a missed test is treated as a failed test.

Frank Mir's Precarious Predicament
(sherdog.com)It's fairly safe to assume that former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir has never fought anybody as strong as Brock Lesnar. He's probably never trained with someone of that ilk either.
Mir has also never found himself in this situation: If he wins, it's no big deal, and if he loses, he could be letting down the entire MMA universe.
Without question, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner is marred in a precarious position whether he wants to admit it or not.

the UFC’s Big Change for “The Ultimate Fighter 7? is revealed
(mmajunkie.com)Although we will not release any fight results from the show (we never post fight spoilers), we will reveal a fairly significant change in the way this season works.
According to a source close to the show, “The Ultimate Fighter 7” will start with 32 cast members — not the usual 16 — and every one of them will have to fight as soon as the show begins. The 16 winners earn a spot in the house, and the 16 losers are sent packing for home.
The likely format change should be warmly received by critics of the show who complain that the series focuses more on the drama and in-house antics than it does training and the actual fights. Additionally, many of the show’s weaker cast members will likely be eliminated before they’re even technically a part of the cast, assuring that only the cream of the crop are in the house for the duration of the show
Unfortunately, we have no information on how the initial match-ups might be determined
UFC 83 Starnes vs Quarry
mmamania.com

Good fight imo.
