Brave champ Carlston Harris welcomes Al-Selawe as challenger, willing to fight in Jordan
Brave Welterweight champion Carlston Harris wants to fight outside of Brazil and defend his title in a foreign country. Even though he’s from Guyana, “Moçambique” has spent his entire career fighting in Brazil, a place he calls home for nearly eight years now. And he knows his next opponent could very well be Jarrah Al-Selawe, who moved to 3-0 with Brave Combat Federation after shutting down Carl Booth at Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions. And with “The Jordanian Lion” campaigning for a Brave fight card in his home country, after claiming H.H Sheikh Khalid made him a promise, Harris isn’t opposed to defending his belt at his opponent’s home turf. Actually, the Welterweight champion relishes the challenge.

In three fights for United, Campbell has managed to finish all three bouts, and claim the promotion’s lightweight title in the process. “These three wins were not the caliber of what I was fighting in 2016, but they were still all game opponents,” Campbell told MMAWeekly.com. “I didn’t take any one of them lightly.

Dana White interested in re-signing Cub Swanson: ‘I want him to be happy’
Cub Swanson’s first loss in over two years couldn’t have come at a worse time. The 34-year-old featherweight veteran entered Saturday’s UFC Fresno main event with a four-fight winning streak and the knowledge that this would be the last fight of his current contract. Unfortunately for “Killer Cub,” his successful run came to a halt when opponent Brian Ortega submitted him with a guillotine choke in the second round.

Brian Ortega continued to make his presence felt in the UFC featherweight division on Saturday when he turned from prospect to contender with a victory over Cub Swanson in the UFC Fight Night 123 main event. Ortega (13-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) added to his perfect record when he locked up a fight-ending second-round submission on Swanson (25-8 MMA, 10-4 UFC) in their headlining bout, which took place at Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif., and aired on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. It hasn’t taken long, but “T-City” has already made a mark in the UFC record books. Among the gems the UFC produced in Fresno, Brian Ortega carries a special kind of gleam
These days an effective Fight Night in the UFC is one that brings to public consciousness shiny new intriguelings that have thus far gone unheralded. On Saturday night in Fresno there were at least three on display — Marlon Moraes, the former WSOF bantamweight champion who is still shaking off the association; Jason Knight, a man most promisingly dubbed a southern Diaz brother; and Brian Ortega, an undefeated prospect who looks exactly like Hollywood’s exaggerated idea of a fighter on the rise.

Why Invicta FC flyweight champion Jennifer Maia turned down TUF 26 opportunity
Jennifer Maia is one of the top flyweights in the world, so why wasn’t she on the 26th season of The Ultimate Fighter? The UFC recently crowned its first women’s flyweight champion with a special edition of the company’s reality show, and Maia, the current Invicta FC 125-pound champion, was not listed as one of the contestants. Set to defend her Invicta FC belt just seven days after Nicco Montaño won the inaugural UFC title with a decision win over Roxanne Modafferi, Maia said that she got a call from the promotion to be on the reality show, but turned down the opportunity. "They invited me to be on The Ultimate Fighter, but since I’m the Invicta champion I thought that I don’t need to go through TUF to be in the UFC,” Maia told MMA Fighting. "Sometimes you’re not in a good day there and end up losing, and it’s not smart to leave a promotion where I’m the champion to try something.
