UFC heavyweight Justin McCully has been offered a bout with Frenchman Cheick Kongo at UFC 81 “Breaking Point” on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, The Fight Network has confirmed with McCully’s camp. Big John Interview
After so many times of imploring mixed martial arts fighters, "Let's Get it On," John McCarthy sought trademark protection on the phrase. For more than a decade, "Big John," was the UFC's choice referee, a figure often referred to as the "Octagon's ninth side." After more than 500 bouts that trace the UFC's evolution, McCarthy retired -- sort of -- last week. Now he'll be getting it on for The Fight Network, North's America's only all-combat sports channel. He recently sat down with SI.com

Rickson Gracie - Exploring Genius
Numerous modern day Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu masters declare openly that Rickson Gracie’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the supreme expression of the art today. Indeed, many world-class Jiu-Jitsu players, champions in their own right, declare solemnly that Rickson Gracie is a virtuoso. The intent of this essay is to speak about my personal experience indicating Rickson’s uniqueness and to pursue several explanations that may shed greater light regarding the source of his matchless skills.

Jong Man Kim: Carrying on the Legacy
This year marked the 25th anniversary of the tragic passing of South Korean boxer Duk Koo Kim, who died from blood clots sustained during his harrowing fight with Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini. As in any unfortunate passing, people try to remember the life that was lived rather than the death itself. Such has been the case in South Korea, where Kim's story has been celebrated, if tearfully, as one man's insurmountable spirit.

Former UFC Champion Steve Jennum Attacked
After his taste of the limelight as the winner of the UFC 3 tournament, Steve Jennum made news again, this time in his other role as a police officer. While off-duty on December 17, Jennum was attacked from behind by three assailants wielding a bottle as a weapon. Jennum prevented himself from being struck by the bottle and struggled with the accused until one of them pulled a knife and Jennum vacated the scene. "He was able to prevent the suspect from striking him from behind with the bottle and struggled with the victims, obviously his training added to what he was able to do," said Omaha Police Sgt. Teresa Negron.
