Finding Fedor
(sherdog.com)To really understand a man and the choices that he makes, you have to know where he comes from.
Beyond his public image, beyond your own projecting, you have to understand his place in the world. You have to understand how he has been influenced by the physical and psychological manifestations of his country's politics. Most importantly, you have to know his outlook on life.

Horodecki Expects to Cap 2007 with IFL Title
(sherdog.com)It's been quite a year for Chris Horodecki.
The International Fight League's top lightweight has been very busy in 2007, going undefeated in four fights. Heading into this week's Grand Prix event at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., the 20-year-old Canadian still maintains a squeaky clean record of 7-0 in the IFL and 11-0 overall.
The Year in European MMA
(sherdog.com)2007 was an outstanding year for European MMA. The UFC returned to the U.K. for the first time in almost three years. Meanwhile Fedor Emelianenko, arguably the strongest fighter to ever grace a ring, was scarce inside the squared circle but still dominated the headlines.
Last but not least, there was a tremendous power shift on the European scene when longtime powerhouse promotions Cage Rage and M-1 Mix-Fight Championship were sold to American companies ProElite and Sibling Entertainment Group respectively.
Read on for the most comprehensive roundup you'll find on the year in European MMA.

Cro Cop Returns
(fortunal.nokaut.com)
What I’ve learned from my friendship with Mirko Cro Cop is that you can never be sure what he is up to. He prefers to keep his thoughts for himself; he’s always been a man of a few words. His absence in the media often results in completely misleading stories, coming from people who are giving their best shot in evaluating Mirko’s position and the nature of his future plans....
Ultimate Mayweather
(sherdog.com)Telling the media that he had "accomplished all that I could as a fighter" following his Dec. 8 bout with Ricky Hatton, Floyd Mayweather intimated that he would be happy to retire with a perfect 39-0 record and the unofficial title of best pound-for-pound boxer on the planet.
But if Mark Cuban is to be believed, the 30-year-old pugilist has a prescient sense of history and wants to add one more chapter to his inevitable self-congratulatory autobiography -- Mayweather could become the first boxer in his career prime to risk hyper-extended ligaments in a mixed martial arts contest.
Mayweather, Cuban said, will be involved in some capacity with the billionaire's fledging HDNet Fights promotion and will visit MMA gyms in the coming months to gauge his interest in an open-style fight.
