Frank Mir: If Brock Lesnar comes back and smashes somebody, then a rubber match will make sense
Frank Mir tells it like it is. Like him or not, there's no one in the sport who is less afraid to be brutally honest than the former two-time UFC heavyweight champion. Mir is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Roy Nelson at UFC 130 in a fight that he dominated from start to finish with knees in the clinch, aggressive takedowns, ground and pound and even a judo throw. With the win, he's now one step closer to potentially fighting for a shot at what would be his third UFC title.

Tom Lawlor had originally been scheduled to face Maiquel Falcao at UFC 134, but Falcao's Zuffa release and subsequent signing with a small Alberta promotion put a damper on that. Lawlor will be moving to a new card though, and will get a tough replacement opponent. TUF 11 cast member Kyle Noke, currently 3-0 under the UFC banner, will step up to face Lawlor on August 14th in Milwaukee.

Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz set for UFC 137 in Las Vegas
The hurdles have apparently been cleared. Despite his recent insistence that a bout between current UFC champion Georges St-Pierre (22-2 MMA, 16-2 UFC) and Strikeforce title holder Nick Diaz (25-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC) was anything but a done deal, UFC president Dana White today announced the two welterweights will clash in the main event of the previously unannounced UFC 137 event. Edit: Diaz's manager, Cesar Gracie, did tell USA Today that the St-Pierre fight is part of a new eight-fight contract for Diaz that allows the current Strikeforce champ to compete in both Strikeforce and the UFC

No Fitch? No problem. Rick Story just wants to fight the UFC's best
Following his UFC 130 win over Thiago Alves this past Saturday night, UFC welterweight Rick Story (13-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC) expressed his desire for a bout with perennial contender Jon Fitch. Fitch subsequently claimed he wasn't interested in a fight with Story, citing potential bouts with B.J. Penn or Georges St-Pierre as the only contests the appeared truly interesting. That's just fine, Story today told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). Fitch might be out of commission too long, anyway. Story has hie eyes on the title, and he wants to stay busy on his way to the top.

K-1 Heavily in Debt to Fighters; It's Showtime Planning to Take Legal Action
K-1 made news last week with the announcement that they would finally be returning to action on June 25. It was great news for kickboxing fans, and seemed to momentarily erase the past 6 months of frustration and questions of mismanagement. Enter It's Showtime. The Dutch kickboxing organization had a very important question in the wake of this announcement - how can K-1 announce a new show when they haven't paid everyone from last year's shows? It's Showtime, who also has a talent management division, pointed out that their fighters are owed over $400,000 in back pay for previous K-1 events. After six months, It's Showtime has had enough, and have announced their plan to take legal action against K-1 and parent company FEG: For more than half a year K-1 owes us more than 400.000 US dollars in total because several fighters which we represent have not been paid. Every time we were asked to have more patience because a potential investor would be interested to take over K-1. Until now, we have never contacted a lawyer to claim our credits because we granted K-1 the time they need to financially recover. However, we were very surprised to hear that DREAM and K-1 want to organize a number of smaller events. In our opinion that isn't possible before K-1 first pays its debts to fighters which already have fought. Therefore, now is the time for us to hire a lawyer.

Manager: UFC 130 winner Travis Browne "most dangerous heavyweight in division"
Travis Browne had to wait in line. Despite delivering one of the only highlight-reel clips of UFC 130 – and getting the bonus to show for it – the 29-year-old former K-9 trainer sat patiently on the post-event press conference dais while the cards headliners explained a lackluster showing. Browne (11-0-1 MMA, 2-0-1 UFC) was one of only two that dressed up for the occasion, wearing a button-down shirt and tie. (Brian Stann took it a step further and wore a suit jacket.) But he eventually got his moment, and not just with the knockout. The 6-foot-11 Stefan Struve provided the content for Browne's highlight reel when he lunged in with a knee and caught a right to the jaw that put him horizontal to the mat before he landed there. Browne pounced and delivered follow-up punishment, but there was no need.
