After months of deliberations, one of the most anticipated showdowns in mixed martial arts history will finally come to fruition when former UFC middleweight champion, Frank Shamrock, battles fellow knockout artist and consummate showman, “The New York Badass” Phil Baroni, for the vacant Strikeforce world middleweight (185 lb. limit) championship during the main event of “Judgment Day,” a live, Pay Per View televised Strikeforce-EliteXC cage fight card that will take place at San Jose, California’s HP Pavilion on Friday, June 22nd.
Future PRIDE plans

Daily Sports has a report quoting Nobuhiko Takada about the upcoming Lightweight GP tournament. Takada is quoted as saying that it will begin on July 16th at Nagoya’s Rainbow Hall. Interestingly enough, he also claims that PRIDE 35 will take place in California this June.
In Nikkan Sports, Takada discusses a proposal to create a large PRIDE-themed museum (and gym) in Roppongi (Tokyo).
Some Joe Doerkson News.
Joe Doerksen has signed a 3 fight contract with Pride and is rumored to fight in the next Pride card, He has recently trained with Rich Franklin helping prepare Franklin for Jason. He also trained with Jeremy 'Gumby' Horn, and last weekend had a warm-up fight in Japan in DEEP. Joe won via Triangle choke. Is anyone excited to see how he fairs in Pride. He has recently fought in the IFL and has faught Matt Lindland in the UFC which he lost and therefore didn't get another fight in the UFC. I have been impressed with his performance and wanna see how a fellow Canadian will do in Pride. So anyone wanna send some War Doerksen for some good luck in his upcoming fights?
Fedor vs Lindland

"I absolutely, absolutely would like a rematch,” said Lindland. “I’m not saying the outcome would have been any different but that’s a much different fight if the referee does what he’s supposed to and I wind up on top and am able to utilize my skills there.”

InsideFighting columnist and professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Nick Thompson had a title fight this weekend in Russia, but that didn’t stop him from filing his story for this week (what a guy, huh?). And lucky for us because this week’s column is an excellent must read for all fighters and aspiring fighters as Thompson continues his training and nutrition series by pointing out the five common mistakes of good fighters and offering solutions. Oh yeah, Nick also won his title fight in Russia today by second TKO. See what it takes to go from a “B” level fighter to an “A” level fighter and enjoy!-editor
