Brandon Vera speaks
Brandon Vera speaks! After posting on MMA.tv, Vera reveals he's still training and most interestingly, still with Rob Kaman. Notable quote:
First and foremost I would like to apologize to all of my friends and fans, coaches and family for being held up for a minute. I know, I know the 1M dollar ?'s are when/who/where are you fighting again. I honestly don't know. I do know whoever I fight next it's gonna be in for a good one.
I'm headed to Thailand today and I'm gonna travel from camp to camp. (yes I'm still with Rob Kaman) I actually tried to bring him wiith me, but, his shcedule wouldn't permit. I'm meeting him in Holland after May 2nd. After that Big Bear with Rampage and after that East Coast with Master Lloyd Irvin. Just cuz I don't have a fight lined up dosen't mean anyone is gonna catch me slippin.
When he gets to these parts, I'll see if I can set up an interview with him. Also, I was under the impression he split with Rob Kaman vis a vis City Boxing, but apparently not. So if he's still training with elite coahces and improving every element of his game, good on him. Maybe that layoff won't hurt him so bad afterall.

CroCop "Annoyed" By Pre-Fight Obligations In UFC,
Mirko doesn't like showbiz, but showbiz is exactly what the UFC, his current organization, wants. They made a circus even in the weigh-ins, in front of around thousand people.
"In Japan I came to the hotel and didn't get out until the fight, and after the fight I went home. Here I have to do conferences, weigh-ins, and I don't like it, it annoys me, but it's their way, and I chose this job myself. Oh, I'm not sorry...", Mirko says.

Is Bodog Wooing Fedor Away From Pride/UFC?
Dana White threatened legal action if Fedor Emelianenko tries to sign with another organization, but it looks like Bodog may be willing to make the Pride champ an offer.
In a story about billionaire Bodog founder Calvin Ayre, Gambling 911 writes:
Ayre makes no secret of the fact that Bodog Fight is doing everything in its power to entice the PRIDE Heavyweight champion.
"We are happy to entertain any ideas he (Fedor Emelianenko) may have working with Bodog in the future," said Ayre, who had nothing but kind things to say about Emelianenko. "(Fedor) is an unbelievably classy guy. He doesn't seem to have any type of weakness. He is a complete fighter. Unbelievable!"
Gambling 911 also reports that Bodog Fight will have a "major announcement" in the next few weeks about its plan in Europe
Why the Mayweather-UFC Feud is All Talk
Look at it this way:
Mayweather is expected to earn $12 million for his fight against Oscar De La Hoya on May 5.
In all of 2006, the UFC spent about $6.4 million on fighter payrolls*. That's the entire year -- 17 events**, 296 fights, 592 fighters.
In other words, in 36 minutes of boxing, Mayweather is going to earn nearly twice as much money as every fighter in the UFC earned all of last year.
