Wanderlei Silva - The Return of The Axe Murderer - Part I & 2
When the word “legendary” precedes your name, it can sometimes be a license to forget where you came from, to avoid the people who supported you through the lean times, and to look down from your ivory tower as a different person than the one you started out as. After dropping a five round decision to Tito Ortiz at UFC 25 in April of 2000, the then-23 year old Wanderlei Silva was at a crossroads in his mixed martial arts career. He had left Japan’s PRIDE organization (where he was 3-0) to take a world title shot in the UFC, but having lost, he was a man without a venue to fight in.

The Tito Ortiz Charade: Playing New Games
In the latest chapter of the saga that is Tito Ortiz, the "bad boy" of the UFC has seemingly caused multiple rumors to be released onto the Internet as to who he will be fighting next in the UFC. The presumption was that he would rematch Rashad Evans due to the draw that occured between the two at the UFC 73: Stacked because of a Tito Ortiz fence grab that ultimately caused the scores to be even at the end of the bout.

The Big Diesel becoming The Big MMA?
Although he likely won't quit his day job as the NBA Miami Heat's starting center, Shaquille O'Neal spent the summer offseason doing some MMA training. Likely will never make it to UFC or any MMA promotion for that matter, but it would be fun to see him bring some Diesel Power to the sport. He certainly would guarantee packed arenas.

Former UFC Champion Checks Into Celebrity Rehab
Former UFC HW Champion Ricco Rodriguez, coming off a loss in the IFL Championship Finals, has been chosen to appear on "Celebrity Rehab", a weekly reality series debuting in January '08 on the cable network VH1. I'm a bit skeptical about this just because it's a TV deal even though it's supposedly a legit rehab thing, some of those celebrities he'll be with might not be the best people for him to go through rehab with.

UFC 76 Steroid-Free So Far
UFC is awaiting steroid test results for all 18 fighters who competed at the UFC 76 event, but 6 test results came back recently, and the good news is all 6 passed. It appears that these were prelim fighters who have had their results back, but still good to see that nobody's failed so far.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Sensation Not Going To UFC
BJJ sensation Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, coming off his 6th win in 7 fights, recently denied internet reports saying he had signed with Zuffa and was headed to UFC. Based on other comments he made, it sounded like he almost had a deal to fight for the now-Zuffa-owned WEC, but apparently it fell through.

Tito Or No Tito, Rashad Ready To Fight Again
UFC LHW fighter and TUF 2 winner Rashad Evans, rumored to be fighting Tito Ortiz at UFC 78 in a rematch of their first fight, says that regardless of who it is, he just wants to get one more fight in this year. Hopefully the fight with Tito does get made, but if it doesn't there certainly is no shortage of potential opponents for Evans. He wants another good opponent and he can certainly get one if UFC can make the match happen.

Daniel Puder Challenges Bob Sapp
Former WWE wrestler Daniel Puder, now an undefeated MMA fighter, called out Bob Sapp after Saturday night's Strikeforce event to challenge him to an MMA fight. While Sapp probably is nowhere near the fighter he once was, this could still be a good fight because of the name recognition both have and both do have wrestling backgrounds to complement their chosen fighting styles.

TUF 7 Format Apparently Set
UFC matchmaker Joe Silva, making a public appearance over the weekend, announced to the crowd the planned format/weight class for the 7th season of The Ultimate Fighter: Middleweight. This certainly would be a good time for MW to be featured again as there hasn't been much at MW to get excited about and the last time they did MW on TUF, we got the fiasco that was Travis Lutter missing weight and blowing his title match against Anderson Silva.
