Mamed Khalidov Blasts Michal Materla in 31 Seconds for Middleweight Gold at KSW 33   [View Full Version]

Mariusz Pudzianowski might be Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki's biggest star, but Mamed Khalidov is the promotion's greatest fighter. Saturday at Tauron Arena in Krakow, Poland, Khalidov proved it once more, demolishing Michal Materla in 31 seconds and taking middleweight gold in the main event of KSW 33.

KSW boldily billed the Materla-Khalidov clash as the “biggest fight in European MMA history,” but Khalidov (31-4-2) left little room for anything resembling drama. Within seconds, Khalidov landed a hard right hook that wobbled the champion. Khalidov then sprinted, took flight and bashed Materla (22-5) with a flying knee, another perfect right hook as the champ fell and a dozen rifling punches before referee Piotr Michalak could intervene in barely half a minute.

It was pretty spectacular, and getting Khalidov into the UFC will remain just as tough as ever...Karol Bedorf also crushed Michal Khita with a head kick...when watching a guy like Browne or even Overeem, you wouldn't think Bedorf would be a threat with head kicks, but the added threat of that speaks loudly for him in my opinion. Always a pleasure to see Flacoa getting KTFOed as well...find a free gif or a quick highlight on you tube, it's all worth the watch.

He really is. That finish sequence looked like a video game. Massive, wind up straight right to flying knee to uppercut then the finish. That was awesome. I would love to see him test himself with the top 10 in the UFC. There are so many good matchups for him there. Who hasn't he beaten that KSW could offer him at this point. He's 5 years (11 fights) undefeated over solid competition.
