Two of MMA’s best second-tier promotions will come together in May.

They’re not merging, but in a unique venture, RFA and Legacy FC will have its fighters compete against each other on a cross-promotional card of superfights. The news was announced on Friday’s edition of “Inside MMA” on AXS TV, which will broadcast the card, by RFA President Ed Soares.

The Legacy-RFA card includes:

Damacio Page (Legacy) vs. Alexandre Pantoja (RFA) – for flyweight title
Luke Sanders (RFA) meets Terrion Ware (Legacy)
Mike Bronzoulis (Legacy) vs. Dave Burrow (Legacy) – for vacant lightweight title
Joe Cason (Legacy) vs. Jan Jorgensen (RFA)
Charles Byrd (Legacy) vs. Bojan Velickovic (RFA)
Chris Feist (Legacy) vs. Adam Townsend (RFA)
Brian Hall (Legacy) vs. TBA (RFA)

I dunno about title fights.....but more cross promotional superfights and cards should definitely be happening in mma.

Imagine once or twice a year we'd have world cup of mma.....

Top fighters from every major org and some regionals enter a tourney to prove who is best.

I also don't know what is implied by the title fight. It's a title that would exist only when the co promotion comes together which could potentially never happen again. Still, my hat is off to everyone involved for putting together something that has been lacking in mma since...ever?
Bellator and UFC would be fun for FW, LW, and maybe WW

I'd like to see Bellator vs all Axs TV promotions; RFA, Legacy, CES, and MFC.

But of the Axs Tv fights at this time Legacy and RFA are the top 2.

or Bellator vs WSOF.

If the UFC had a promotional equal it could work there too, but when you're on top there's no reason to help your competition by doing something like this.

Like the idea of cross overs

Ksw,m-1,Bellator,Wsof all have fighters who could threaten and or beat ufc top ten.

Ufc should do this to further the entire sport......rather then stay secluded while claiming to have the best in the world.

While ufc has the highest volume of elite fighters, there are many guys who could best the top ten, remember strikeforce?

Ufc and idiots all spouted off about how strikeforce guys weren't equal to ufc....now robbie lawler is champ, werdum is challenging for a title and multiple guys are either in title contention or in top 10.

Ufc doesnt do this because they have more to lose if one of their fighters lose to a "b league"fighter.

The ufc does not house only the best actually that statement is laughable lol they house a good portion of interchangeable fighters.

A world cup of mma would be EPIC!

Look at bellators tourneys.....without them guys like frodo khasbulaev wouldn't have as much of a name and wouldn't be seen by north America n audience.

Imagine the stars that could be made.....

Point made. Prove you're the best in other organizations...you'll get a spot in the top organization (UFC) to fight the best...and have chance at the title.

Edit: I used the wrong "you're" and it bugged me.

FKA » Posted 12/23/14 7:13:00PM

Point is they don't need to prove anything if your an elite fighter your elite period.

These days just because u fight in ufc doesnt mean your fighting the best....

The guys i mentioned all were brought over after buy out,if they weren't bought ufc would still claim they aren't worthy lmfao total bullshit.

Just bring your champ,or a top 5 guy from your org and see what happens when they fight....no fantasy bs mma math doesn't work especially when you try applying it to different promotions.

Its not ufc vs titan fc lmao

Bellator,wsof,m-1,one,ksw,fight nights, tech krep, all have guys that are interchangeable with ufc top 10.

I hate how mma media trys to segregate mma like anything outside ufc can just be lumped together as minor leagues.

I think it is a great idea. Title fights and belts seem to be pointless but it's cool.

I agree the belt thing is pointless because its just an inter promotional title.

If they did the world cup thing then yeah a belt would be cool but since its just 2 promotions they should just do trophys like pride.

They might could be top ten, but top 3 and title challengers?

Here's just a little quick breakdown of HW through LW.
Compare what is on the outside of the UFC to what is on the very fringe of the UFC's top 10's.

206+ lbs.
UFC's HW Top 10 Gate Keeper: Antonio Silva

Vitaly Minakov
Akexander Volkov

205 lbs.
UFC's LHW Top 10 Gate Keeper: Manuwa

Liam McGeary
Emanuel Newton
King Mo

185 lbs.
UFC's MW Top 10 Gate Keeper: Bisping

David Branch
Mamed Khalidov
Brandon Halsey

170 lbs.
UFC's WW Top 10 Gate Keeper: Maia

Funky Ben
Palhares
Douglas Lima

155 lbs.
UFC's LW Top 10 Gate Keeper: Masvidal

Will Brooks
Chandler

All of those guys would have a tough fight with UFC's fringe top 10's.
After comparing them to the fringe top 10...compare them to the top 3's.
UFC has the best fighters in the world.
If fighters outside the UFC are better, they can prove it elsewhere and get a shot.

Best vs Best fights are already happening...in the UFC.
Enjoy it.

Lawler and Werdum were both 'UFC guys' anyway.....

Great point.......

I don't see any problem with the champs fighting each other, it would be for the Axis TV title. I think it would be cool to see a guy walk out with two belts.
