FastKnockout » Posted 9/24/10 8:39:00PM

The former UFC Light Heavyweight champ says that unless the UFC Hall of Fame comes with a pension he's not interested.

Damn, that actually made sense.

It's all about money with rampage

I don't think Rampage would be making it in there anyways, so let's not sweat it.

Oh, I actually disagree...since the UFC now owns all that footage, they can take credit for the Slampage and all of his Pride/FC history. He was a Champ who defeated Liddell by KO and he beat Henderson. If there were an MMA HOF he would be in there, and this is as close as it gets. His personality works for it too...I'd put him in there man, dude's an awesome fighter and has had me t u nine in for years!

My thoughts exactly

The UFC I have come to realize is a pretty SHADY organization, in terms of treatment of fighters and monetary compensation

Its a damn shame.

Rampage is one of a group of fighters that the UFC made ALOT of money off of.

Im with Rampage on this one

They have...and they are going to continue to as they have rights to his likeness for the purposes of advertisements and video games. I have to say, Rampage is rich as well (in comparison to us normal folk) so I don't know if I really ever worry about him. It's a lot like the Tito Ortiz situation, whenever he complains I picture the video of Jenna in his bedroom that is bigger than a lot of people's whole apartments. There is enough talented badasses out there for most of the vets to retire now. I mean a lot of them...I would never be the guy to force it upon them (to each their own) but I could probably name like 20+ fighters that are on the cusp of retiring anyways.

If Tito and Coleman can get in, then Rampage definitely deserves it.

KO'd Wandy for ultimate revenge, Chuck 2x, Henderson, Arona, Lindland, and Machida.

Plus he was a human highlight reel in PRIDE.

Svartorm » Posted 1/24/07 8:41:00PM

I disagree. Tito was an incredibly dominant champion that forced rule changes (stand-ups on the ground) because he as practically unbeatable.

Coleman invented an entire style of fighting we still see today.

Rampage sent Chuck on a downward skid but lost the belt to Griffin, who should have never been a champion.

Rampage has earned his spot in the UFC HOF for sure. His run in the UFC is a good indication of this but his PRIDE days also solidify it as well.

Very debatable though. Alot of people thought Rampage won that fight. Griffin did just beat Shogun too so its not like Rampage lost to a complete jobber.

Svartorm » Posted 1/24/07 8:41:00PM

I thought he won, but if he knew how to fight reasonably well he wouldn't have lost by even a debatable margin. If it's a UFC hall of fame, no fucking way did Rampage do anything to get into it. If we're counting Pride, still no because he barely beat anyone notable there either.

They should give the UFC hall of famers a huge shiny trophey so Coleman has something else to sell on ebay.

GDPofMPG » Posted 2/22/08 6:29:00PM

UFC's hall of fame should be decided by UFC fighters only.
