Former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold will move up to light heavyweight to fight Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239 on July 6 in Las Vegas, multiple sources tell ESPN.

Rockhold, also the former Strikeforce middleweight champion, most recently fought for the interim UFC middleweight title against Yoel Romero in February 2018, losing by third-round KO. He has stated publicly in recent months that he was open to a move up to light heavyweight due to a strenuous weight cut.

So really, I know most everyone is predicting Rockhold to walk away with a W here and breathe new life into the LHW division and his career but...
If he losses to Jan lets not say its because he is washed, instead we need to look at Jan who has quietly built a nice little resume for himself.

Yeah Jan is no pushover- he is 10x the fighter he was a few years ago. In saying that I still don’t think Rockhold is past it, he was fighting well against Yoel up until getting caught, he just really needs to tighten up that boxing defence....I kind of see Rockhold’s stand up in general as dated, he has solid kicks but his boxing reminds me of mma back in 2005.
