Paul Daley has been something of a cult figure among U.K. MMA fans for more than a decade, but now he thinks he is finally about to hit pay dirt with the biggest win of his career.

Daley (40-16-2 MMA, 6-3 BMMA) developed his reputation as a terrifyingly powerful striker who would test his skills against anyone in the world. He says he has solved the puzzle so many of Michael Page’s (13-0 MMA, 8-0 BMMA) previous opponents failed to master, and that he’s ready to halt the hype train of his countryman.

Daley has always neglected Wrestling. He came up in an era where you could be competent in two disciplines and still do very well. Unfortunately that era of fighters, Wanderlei, Tito, Chuck, Daley, Diaz bros, Sherk, etc would not fair as well nowadays as they did back in their era. The next generations are coming into the sport already well rounded. Daley never evolved with the sport. He is still very dangerous and very powerful, but his game lacks very obvious holes. I don't know why he isn't training with the top level wrestling camps around the world, because if he was, he'd still be in the UFC and a perennial top 10 contender. But alas he has found a home (and a very lucrative one I am sure) with Bellator. That being said, MVP should just try and stand for a minute and set up the takedown and make it a long night for Daley. If his wrestling is still the same as the Koscheck fight, welp. It'll make for an easy fight for MVP.
