The original Cyborg Santos is calling it a career after a flying knee that fractured his skull, but with a positive outlook.

Evangelista Santos isn’t a household name for UFC fans, but he owns a respectable fight history as one of MMA’s premier action fighters.

I'm glad, that was one of the most sickening injuries I've ever seen. One of the few knockouts I never want to see again.

I think everyone can understand that one. Good fighter too; well rounded vet, fought the names, built a good rep, traveled the world and fought in all the best organizations.

Perfectly fine by me. I think the whole mma community understands. Does nothing to tarnish his career. Freak accidents happen. He should count his blessings it wasn’t worse. When I saw the X-ray I figured that would be something horrendous, if not death. Happy retirement, Cyborg.

I wouldn't call that a "freak accident". Page threw a nasty flying knee at his head and connected. No accident. Hit any bone hard enough and it's going to break. I am surprised there isn't more horrific injuries in the sport.
