I think Khabib wins in a round or two.

Same. Conor has shown vulnerability throughout his career on the ground. Got subbed easy by Nate, and the only wrestler he has ever fought (not counting Eddie due to lack of interest from him of using his high school wrestling background), Mendes, took him down and held him down and controlled him on the ground landing some solid ground and pound prior to gassing out. I think we can all agree that Khabib is a vastly superior grappler to Mendes, no disrespect to Chad, and his ground and pound is more ferocious than Chad's. That output never slows either, which is also a bad sign for Conor who has a history of gassing early if he is made to work a hard pace.

I can see a scenario though with Khabib's heavy forward pressure where Conor clips him and puts him away as he pushes forward to close the space and work to clinch him up.

Really, stylistically, this is that classic MMA match up of Grappling specialist vs striking specialist. It's as simple as if Conor can stay upright, he wins, if he can't he gets thoroughly dominated and smashed.

I definitely don't see the fight going the full 5 rounds to a decision.
Either Conor wins on the feet by TKO ...EARLY in the fight.
...or Khabib wins on the ground by either SUB or TKO by GNP.
No way that Conor would last on the ground for multiple rounds(if even 1 round). Dude would gas FAST.
...and Conor...if he's smart...will be more careful with what he throws at Khabib on the feet. ...and pretty much count out those kicks...as Khabib would absolutely LOVE for Conor to throw some kicks at him, so he can catch them, trip him up, and hop on top.
Conor throws some pretty good, quick short punches, so he won't over-commit too much.
But when Conor slows down(rather quick) in the fight, those strikes will also lose that snap on them...in which Khabib will be able to counter with shots for TDs.

....just a hunch.

Probably the greatest and most anticipated fight in mma/ufc history. I have Khabib but would not be surprised with an early McGregor finish.

I’m not going to get too excited though as people forget about Khabib’s injury past

Yeah....and that's why I'll use the MMA cliche of "I won't believe it until the cage door closes on fight night."

Khabib's been much better about that over the past few years....but damn, did he back out of butt load of fights earlier than that. He was once the running joke of backing-out of fights back then.
Fingers crossed this time around. This fight needs to happen. ...for the UFC's sake as well.

Khabib also had to back out of 2 scheduled fights with Donald Cerrone in 2014 and 2015 due to knee injuries.

Rooting Khabib all the way, no way do I want to see McGregor end his undefeated streak and add to his "god" status in MMA. Regardless, I think he has many fights at LW it just depends how many he's gonna be willing to take. Nate/DP winner will be in line since if Nate wins they could find do the trilogy at 55 and make it for the belt. You also have T Ferg waiting in the whims....Kevin Lee, hopefully can make 155 is up there....Pettis could be back, the emergence of Alexander Hernandez....there's a bunch of LWs that are ready to take that belt from whomever has it.

Was talking to my co-worker about this fight. I don’t believe it’ll ever happen. Meaning, I’ll believe it when they walk to the cage. Too many factors. Khabib with the weight cutting/injuries and Conor with his eccentric lifestyle and cocaine. Seriously. Drugs are a big factor. Cheers to Diaz & Poirier being a headliner.
