Rising featherweight prospect Alex Volkanovski appears set to face top-10 contender Darren Elkins at UFC Boise in July.

On the cusp of breaking into the UFC featherweight rankings, Alexander Volkanovski looks to have his next fight lined up, and it’s the biggest one of his career thus far.

Nice step up for Volkanovski and a match up he deserves. I like him here but I'm sure this will turn into a war. This is basically battle of the best grinders in the division.

I agree. Volkanowski has paid his dues and he's damn good. The problem is you can never count Elkins out ie. Mersad Bektic. I think Bectik had him down 20-16 going into the 3rd.

You never count out the damage but Volkanovski doesn't strike me as a guy to suddenly gas in the 3rd round. The guy is solid in all areas, I think the guys that will give him trouble are the top strikers of the division

Yeah I think a good striker with good TDD would be the recipe to beat Volkanowski. He's actually a lot better than i thought he would be. He gets a big fight with a W over The Damage.

I would actually like to know which ufc fighters draw blood the most in their fights, I mean their own blood and not opponents. You'd think Elkins would be on the top of the list, Patrick Cummins always seems to get busted up too.

Lauzon and Diego are on that list. They have a ton of scare tissue around their eyes and a clean jab usually splits them.

Really pulling for Elkins here. I honestly wouldn’t have minded if they gave Elkins a shot at Edgar, Or Aldo. He deserves a chance and soon. Even more so if he gets past Volnasvki, who I would have preferred if he fought Zabit, Bermudez, or Emitt. Someone with less momentum then Elkins.

Let’s do damage

I think Stephens put Emmett out for the rest of the year. He broke 2 orbital bones in their Fox Orlando bout.

I thought I read that as well. So maybe cub Swanson.

Yeah if The Damage beats Volkanowski he gets a big fight no doubt.

I'm thinking Edgar gets the Holloway/Ortega Winner. And Stephens vs Aldo fight at UFC Calgary Fox 30. So Cub Swanson or even the winner of Stephens/Aldo would be appropriate.
