It looks like Mauricio Rua will need a new opponent on May 19th.

A report from Combate says that recent UFC light heavyweight title challenger Volkan Oezdemir will be unable to fight Shogun in the co-main event of the promotion’s debut event in Chile. According to the report, Oezdemir’s recent arrest on felony assault charges will prevent him from leaving the United States.

UFC officials have not announced anything as of Thursday.

Shogun dodged a bullet there. I think Blochowicz would be great. he wanted Shogun and it's a winnable fight for both.

Couldn’t prop you but agreed that’s the first fight I thought of. I wouldn’t even be to upset with Manuwa but I think Jan/Shogun makes more sense for the title hierarchy.

Agree with both, but the power of manuwa makes me worry almost as much for shogun as I did for volkan

Agreed my 1st choice was Jan.

There's other options like Glover, Manuwa, and guys as low as Rakic and Craig. Those last 2 would be highly doubtful.

Lets not forget Alvey! He's my #2 choice always looking to scrap and that wouldn't be bad at all really.
