Carlos Condit lost out on the chance to fight Matt Brown, but he’s got a new and equally intriguing opponent for UFC on FOX 29.

Brazilian veteran Alex Oliveira (18-4-1 MMA, 7-3-1 UFC) is stepping up on short notice to fight Condit (30-11 MMA, 7-7 UFC) in the wake of Brown suffering a torn ACL that forced him to withdraw.

This should be just as good as what brown vs condit would have been. Great replacement.

Max Griffin, Perry or Ponz would all be great replacements.

Brazilian Cowboy and Yancy too!

Hmmm maybe DW logged on to see our suggested replacements.

Excellent fight!

It sucks losing Brown but honestly, this is going to be a better fight. Brown is right at the end of his career with very well known weaknesses. Cowboy Oliveira is a tougher fight and a more interesting matchup imo. This is going to be a war.

Indeed! If this wasn't a late notice for Brazilian Cowboy i wouldn't be shocked if he was the favorite. Either way better fight. No gimme for NBK.

I agree, add to that Condit is usually a slow starter and Oliveria comes out like a beserker at times, makes it very interesting. The fight with Brown I was move confident picking Condit to win, this makes it a little tougher imo because of Brazilian Cowboy's heavy hands and willingness to stand and bang. Condit is gonna have to rely a lot on his movement.
