Rashad Evans is returning to the weight class where he was once a champion.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion will be back at 205 pounds when he takes on Anthony Smith at UFC 225 on June 9 at the United Center in Chicago, sources confirmed with MMA Fighting on Monday.

I'm not really interested in Rashad fighting anymore. Not to be disrespectful, but I question whether he really has anything left at this stage in his career. I'd rather see him transition to more of a commentary and analyst type job like he has been lately. He's fairly good in that position. I like Rashad, I don't want to see him go out like Liddell did. Hate seeing legends end up like that.

I'd love to see Rashad win this fight and retire. Go out w/ a win. He hasn't been the same since Jones beat him 6 years ago and the 2014 injury I think it was slowed him down.

I expect this to got the way Luke Thomas suggests we send vets to pasture...brutally. Making it abundantly clear that he has no business fighting anymore.
