“The Phenom” and “The Dragon” will collide in Brazil.

A middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort and Lyoto Machida is in the works for UFC 224 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 12, multiple sources told MMA Fighting. The event will take place at the Jeunesse Arena, same venue that held six of the previous eight cards in the city.

There have been so many post prime matchups that would have been way cooler 5 years ago. If this had been 2012-2013 and this fight were announced I would have lost my mind.

I still like the fight, it just isn't what it could have been

Was kind of hoping for Machida vs Bisping but this is cool, I guess.

Vitor still has the ability to smoke Lyoto. He just has to come out and be aggressive, if he hesitates and tries to out strike Lyoto then Lyoto should win.

Good matchup, both have lost a step but I think Machida will be able to counter Vitor all night, might even TKO him.
