Vitor Belfort’s retirement fight will have to wait.

Belfort’s expected co-main event bout against Uriah Hall has been scratched from the UFC St. Louis card. UFC officials announced the news immediately following Saturday’s weigh-ins. Hall did not weigh-in. Belfort tipped the scales at 186 pounds.

UFC officials did not elaborate on the reason for Hall’s withdrawal.

A featherweight bout between St. Louis-native Michael Johnson and Darren Elkins has been promoted from the televised preliminaries to the main card, while a women’s flyweight bout between Paige VanZant and Jessica-Rose Clark will now serve as the show’s co-main event.

From Ariel Helwani:

Update on Uriah Hall: according to sources, he was on weight and headed to the weigh-ins this AM. That’s when he fainted. Looked scary, I’m told. Taken to the hospital. He’s feeling better and awake. Doctors are doing tests.

Was also told by two sources that the belief is Hall suffered a seizure in the midst of it all.

Holy shit, that doesn't sound good at all. The way Uriah was talking about how his body shut down during his camp makes this even scarier.
I hope the dude is alright and can continue fighting. I've never heard of a fighter having a seizure because of a botch weight cut so I really hope he doesn't have a career ending injury/condition.

TBH could be the flu. I don’t think hall has a tough time making weight. Flu this year is no joke. Saw national headlines talking about the severity of it. Purely speculatory, of course.

That's why fighters should fight at their natural weight.

A seizure though? Has that ever been attributed to weight cutting?

It could of been a seizure due to body temp. Kids suffer seizures sometimes when they have a high fever. The body tries to protect itself by shutting down. I think he must of been really dehydrated and his body temp was off the charts.
