Almost 21 years after his first appearance inside the Octagon, Vitor Belfort will fight the last bout on his UFC contract Sunday, taking on Uriah Hall in the co-main event of UFC St. Louis.

Vitor will be in a rocker or in a grave before mma fighters start making over $10 million a fight.... if they ever make that much.

Sounds like Vitor will be retiring.

It would be nice to see him go out with a W but i doubt it.

I doubt Bellator would pay much more than $500,000 per fight to him. He's so far past his prime, even though he did have a nice little TRT fueled run a few years ago.

As for $10M, I think Conor has made that for a couple big fights with the PPV money, and GSP probably came close.

I doubt Vitor honestly thinks he can get 10 mil. It's a negotiation tactic. Start as high as you can and work your way down. Bellator will promise him he only has to fight older guys and he'll be fighting for like 300,000 taking on guys like Wandy and Sonnen, sooner rather than later I would bet.

I'm find with Vitor fighting in Bellator's legend division (aka most of the HW Tourney).

I think the negotiating bit is part of it. I'm reading it also as a conscious acknowledgement of unlikelihood, like Vitor is saying this is probably the end. I'd punch myself in the balls a million times for a Ferrari, that kind of thing.
