There is still hope out there for one of the most anticipated welterweight matches that never quite came to fruition.

Four years ago at UFC on FOX 9, Matt Brown and Carlos Condit were set to face each other in what looked to be a surefire Fight of the Night, if not a Fight of the Year contender. Unfortunately, the injury bug intervened when Brown sustained a back injury that forced him out of the fight. The bout never got re-booked and with Brown’s recent statements about potentially retiring from MMA after fight at UFC Norfolk last November, along with Condit’s own waning interest in the sport, it looked like it may never come to pass.

But not so fast! Speaking recently with the Fight Society podcast, Brown suggested that he would postpone his “semi-retirement” if a fight with Condit was on the table.

This is about the only fight i'd like to see Brown take if he was to come back, too many killers now at 170 and Brown has had horror concussion's in the past

Would make for a good fight. Both guys on their way out. Both with weaning chins. Frankly, I'd be down for some good ol' 2000's-UFC-slug-fest.

I don't know if I really want to see the new gunshy Condit fight again...sorry, but he IS not the same guy he was before/during the Lawler fight.

Condit doesn't have the fire anymore, ring rust doesn't mean shit unless you want it bad enough..Cruz, Jones, GSP.

I really don't think Condit fought that differently, i think it was more that Magny had a solid game plan and executed it nearly perfectly, he's also taller and longer than Condit and that's another ting he had trouble with, every time Condit would try to flurry or attack Magny would step out of the way or clinch up he was just a step ahead of him for the entire fight.
