The UFC’s inaugural women’s flyweight title fight has a new challenger.

After “TUF 26” tournament finalist Sijara Eubanks (2-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) failed to weigh in for her fight with Nicco Montano (3-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC), tourney semifinalist Roxanne Modafferi (21-13 MMA, 0-0 UFC) today was named the replacement.

Their fight headlines the TUF 26 Finale, which takes place at Park Theatre in Las Vegas. The majority of the card, including the Modafferi vs. Montano title fight, airs on FS1 following one early prelim on UFC Fight Pass.

According to UFC officials, the change follows Eubanks’ hospitalization earlier today as she was cutting weight for the bout, which determines the UFC’s first 125-pound female champion.

MMAjunkie’s John Morgan was on scene at today’s official weigh-ins in Las Vegas and reported the switch.

Good. Sijara didn't deserve to be in the finals. She shouldn't have had help by the UFC performance center to make weight for her the semifinal fight on tuf. None of the other fighters had help or were offered help from the UFC performance center, only Sijara which is preferential treatment and bullshit. IF she can;t make the weight on her own, then she shouldn't be in the in the house. Or if the UFC performance center is going to work with a fighter to cut weight they should do that with all fighters in all fights, not just 1 fighter in the semis.... now karma came back to bite her in the ass and she misses weight when it matters the most, for the belt. Move that ass up to 135, Sarj, it's obviously not a healthy cut for you.

Rant over.

Now I wonder what happens to Barb Honchak? It would be nice if she could stay on the card, even if they have to split up another match up that's less interesting.

Nvm, question answered. Barb Honchak will be fighting Lauren Murphy. I like this line up better than the original!

Yep just came here to say that Honchak vs Murphy was booked.

Honchak was actually my pick to win it.

Off topic but my predictions going in was;

Modafferi vs Bennett
And Honchak vs Murphy

I was thinking Honchak would definitely make the finals, I was surprised with Nicco but I like her and am happy she's the one to have beaten Barb. I wasn't too sure who was going to win the other half but I was pulling for Roxy. I'll be happy with whoever wins the final now, it's obvious I was not pulling for 'Sarj'.

Nicco just got an easier fight.

From memory I think Sijara struggled with every weigh in she had on the show, would be such a let down if she doesn't get another opportunity

She did but she always made it and even came in at 125 I believe in her last fight in which she dominated Roxanne for 3 rounds. It's a shame she won't be fighting Nicco....she 100% deserved it....won all her fights and never missed weight on the show. I think Nicco is gonna blast Roxanne and her take down defense is top notch, at least Sijara had stronger take downs which made this fight more interesting, imo.

Now imagine this fight without Nicco being able to get take downs, because against Sijara she wouldn't have been able to take her down as easily.....it really is too bad they didn't allow Sarge to attempt the cut.

I love Roxy, she’s a warrior and a vet. No one can take anything away from her. With that being said, I expect her to put up a good fight but not come away with the win. Roxy is a gamer and anything is possible. But, her opponent seems to be a fav going into this fight, and rightfully so.

Roxanne is such a wonderful and likeable person. Sort of hope she is the first ever women's champ at 125.

great fight ? that was the ugliest sloppiest shit i've ever seen as a title fight, it's just simply not good enough for a title fight in the best organisation in the world
