Is Nate Diaz on the verge of returning to the UFC? If an Instagram post from his strength and conditioning coach Jose Garcia is to be believed, then yes.

I voted some one else. Nate has two options. Conor or the division. He needs $$ to live. Nothing wrong with that. But he’s not getting a title shot against Conor unless Conor blows his load over the Bellator thing and fucks over his opportunity to defend the belt against Ferguson.

i'm hearing it's Tyron Woodley. The title has completely lost it's meaning if they set this up.

I was just coming to say rumors are swirling that it's going to be Woodley at UFC 219.

I figured if Nate's going to come back, it's only going to be for a big fight, whether it makes sense or not. Can't see any other fight outside of those 4 I mentioned that he'd take and now with Conor off 219, Tyron and Tony seemed like the only real options... UFC 219 is in 6 weeks with no headliner, if Tyron is the one in training camp and about to announce his next fight soon, it makes sense he's the front runner....(but really that fight makes no sense at all.)

Ariel Helwani commented on Woodley being the one for Nate:

This was the rabbit in the hat I eluded to yesterday on the show. No deal yet, I’m told. They are getting creative. Couple other ideas, too. Event is 6 weeks away and no main event.

I'll definitely pass on Woodley vs Nate. That goes beyond the expected slap in the face we've come to expect from these title match ups. At least when Conor fought Eddie and gsp fought bisping, they had A belt.

I know Nick has been out even longer but i give him more of a chance at Beating Woodley than Nate.

Does anyone else miss the old days? #1 contender fights the champion. I get the UFC is trying to bump up ratings and make money and give us fans good fights but c'mon Diaz couldn't hang with ranked welterweights before, not taking anything away from Markham, Davis, etc they were entertaining fighters to watch but he couldn't hang w/ Kim, Rory and Conor (former featherweight). Tyron will just take him down over and over, he won't stand and trade w/ Diaz. But this is a huge slap in the face to guys like Lawler who's well on his way towards a rematch against T Wood. But I'm a fight fan and I'll end up getting the card lol but again..I do miss the old days!

I heard it will be Woodley. I'm excited for it. I may be wrong but I think Woodley will eat Diaz alive.

It is looking more and more like it might be Woodley. Makes sense. Both guys only want money fights. Big slap in the face to the division. Not to mention Nate is too small for 170. And the new Woodley would beat Nate in a decision. Old Woodley might have thrown caution to the wind, leaving an opening for Nate to get the KO or the knockdown and submission. But I don’t see that happening. Plus, wasn’t it his barber that blew the news?
