Frankie Edgar has suffered an injury and will not be able to compete against featherweight champion Max Holloway at UFC 218.

Brazilian outlet Combate first reported the news, which ESPN.com’s Brett Okamoto confirmed. Sources close to the fighters told MMAjunkie that Edgar suffered a fractured orbital bone.

The title fight was set to headline the UFC 218 pay-per-view, which takes place at Dec. 2 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

I just mentioned to my friend and fellow Pger that it should be Cub or Ortega.

Good call prozac but bad news.

Hold on, maybe McGregor defends his 155 belt against Holloway? Holloway wins and becomes the GOAT and true 2 weight champion!! Honestly I could see it though. Connor saves another show and gets a far easier first title defense.

Anyone else think it's possible???

If it was NY or Vegas maybe, but not Detroit.

I think Conor is fighting either John Cena, Triple G, or Jon Jones next. Or Nate Diaz again or Mayweather again but he's not gonna defend his belt again.

Edgar's one of my favorites, I was hoping we'd see back to back UFC ppvs with two 2-Divisions Champs made, sucks there's no chance of that happening now.

TJ's continuously campaigning to move down a weightclass and challenge the smaller champion.... why not move up a weightclass and challenge the bigger champion.
