The rumored fight between surging UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou and former champion Junior dos Santos is now official for UFC 215 on September 9, 2017 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta. Ilir Latifi vs. Tyson Pedro at light heavyweight was also confirmed at UFC 215. No headline event has been announced.

Ngannou, so, is on a nine-fight win streak, five in the UFC, in a division that is extremely short of streaks. For example, no heavyweight champion has ever defended his title successfully more than twice. All of Ngannou’s opponents were dropped within the first two rounds. Most recently, a tUFC on Fox 23, stopped former champion Andrei Arlovski at 1:32 of Round 1.

This 215 is all so confusing to me. There are multiple sources reporting that it will get cancelled. Others like this one are announcing fights. Maybe the event gets rebooked for a few weeks later? I wonder if MayGregor has anything to do with this decision?

I think I read somewhere it was moved to September. Too lazy to look it up again though.

I thought i saw the same. I think when they say cancelled they meant from the original venue in Seattle or somewhere and they moved it to Canada. But i could be mistaken.

Ballsy move for Cigano! This will definitely make or break him. He hasn't looked the same since the wars he had with Cain. The first Stipe fight as well. USADA/injuries don't exactly hep either. I'll be praying for Junior.

The Seattle PPV with the ever-changing Mighty Mouse fight got cancelled. It was a week before the McGregor fight so there was no point in going on.

215 is now the September show in Edmonton.

This will solidify Ngannou as the #1 contender. Thank you for your service, JDS.
