The UFC light heavyweight division is down another man after Nikita Krylov was released from his contract with the organization this month.

Krylov (21-5 MMA, 9-3 UFC), a nine-fight veteran of the promotion, was let go in the wake of his most recent fight, a first-round submission loss to Misha Cirkunov at UFC 206 in December.

A UFC official confirmed Krylov’s release to MMAjunkie. He was removed from the latest version of the UFC official rankings on the promotion’s website.

Really upsetting. Nikita is one of the fight games most exciting action fighters and he wins way more then he loses and he is still only 24!!!!!! What a bad call UFC

The only thing I can figure is they are going to wipe out every division, drop them down to like only 10 fighters each. Bellator's ranks are going to swell...
This is some how going to make them money?

My thoughts exactly. Although, I could see him going to Japan or somewhere he can takes his Mexican supplements. Bellator would make a killing signing him. I said once before, I'll say it again. UFC, winter is coming...

Talent at hw and lhw is very hard to come by......releasing so many lhws is really wierd not like they have replacement s

If wsof didnt just get new investors id say they were making room for possible new acquisitions but......yeah....

Cirkunov and krylov were both high level rising talent...

I guess they don't care about the future of the LHW division.....no Bader, Misha and now Krylov is 3 top 10 fighters lost.

Krylov on his decision to not re-Sign with the UFC.

In Russia, there are at least a couple of organizations, if not more, who are interested in me,” Krylov explained. “We will negotiate. I think we’ll find common ground. I definitely will not lose, but on the contrary - profit. Today, started a new career as a revolution: here I am free, and now I can think of that as it is necessary. And then we'll see

M-1, ACB, KSW and Rizin are this man's future I'm guessing. There are some good matchups for him out there, I just don't know what the UFC is doing these days. If they're worried about payroll, cut 30 Welterweights or Lightweights that aren't UFC caliber but you should be trying to retain exciting fighters near or in the Top 10. There aren't that many of them out there.

Meanwhile Dana is out "Looking For A Fight" at CFFC tonight. LMFAO

Like seriously try and keep guys like Krylov, Meisha and Horiguchi instead of looking for some B fighters.

To be fair, there were 3 title fights I believe at that event. Pace should be back in the UFC. Gordon is also probably good enough with a nice record and only 1 loss and they could always use HW's as well.
