The former lightweight champion, who earlier this year announced his defection from his longtime division, identified two opponents that would be a welcome start to his new endeavor.

“I think Robbie Lawler is a good name and a fight that interests me,” dos Anjos (25-9 MMA, 14-7 UFC) told MMAjunkie. “Nick Diaz. I think I can beat these guys for sure. Those are some of the names on my mind right now.”

Diaz is the winnable fight for him. Take Nick down for 15 minutes and cruise to UD. Robbie is the wild card fight. I like RDA against matt brown or Neil magney

Look, I like all those fights but I think RDA should have a lower level opponent so he can rebuild. Not trying to be an ass, but all these great fighters can't keep jumping so high up so quickly and still expect to have a long career. Fight outside of the top 15 twice, then take a pair of fights in that top 15 before shooting for a title. The fast track has an extremely bad passing rate. Even Robbie Lawler should take a lower level fight, Cowboy too. Ease off the gas, they are fan favorites and we are going to watch them no matter what. Shit, I just watched Jacare against Boestch.

I think either would kill him.

Diaz only wants "big money fights" but I'm sure RDA will be able to talk him into it.

Speaking of Lawler and Diaz, I would love to see that rematch. Word is Nick was offered that fight and turned it down. So I think we all give up on seeing that one again.
