“The Spider” is coming to the Big Apple.

Anderson Silva will face Derek Brunson at UFC 208 on Feb. 11 in Brooklyn, UFC president Dana White announced Friday. It’s a much-needed boost for a card struggling with regards to star power.

Hmmm that's an odd one, never even thought they'd match these two guys together.

Brunson has a clear path to victory in the wrestling department, imo.....will he take it or will he test his skills on the feet with the great one. If he does, he's getting KO'd.

How the mighty have fallen...

Consensus GOAT at one time and now fighting a guy that wouldn't even be on the main card in some events.

Why.

Do you ask this because you don't think it'll be a competitive fight?

14 fight card.

Oh wow, it is.

Holly Holm vs. Germaine de Randamie - for inaugural women’s featherweight title
Derek Brunson vs. Anderson Silva
Tim Boetsch vs. Ronaldo Souza
Jared Cannonier vs. Glover Teixeira
Travis Browne vs. Derrick Lewis
Jim Miller vs. Dustin Poirier
Ian McCall vs. Neil Seery
Roan Carneiro vs. Ryan LaFlare
Randy Brown vs. George Sullivan
Luis Henrique vs. Marcin Tybura
Nik Lentz vs. Islam Makhachev
Wilson Reis vs. Ulka Sasaki
Gilbert Burns vs. Paul Felder
Rick Glenn vs. Phillipe Nover

I don't think they've ever done a card that had more than 13 fights. I wonder if one of these fights will get moved to a different card or if they'll actually stick with 14 fights?

I'm guessing the 14 would be just compensation for if there are any injuries. It wasn't long ago we had a 10 fight card I think. I think there should be no less than 12 fights per card on average

I would be elated if Silva managed to win

Anderson to the rescue to save yet another lackluster card.

Decent matchup for him too considering how aggresive Brunson has gotten with his striking.

I don't see either Browne or Lewis doing well against JDS...I'd give Lewis a slightly better chance. At this point I'd pick JDS to ko Browne.
