Ronaldo Souza got a fight, but probably not one that will get him closer to his desired spot atop the middleweight division.

“Jacare” will take on Tim Boetsch at UFC 208 on Feb. 11 in Brooklyn, UFC officials told Newsday. Souza’s manager Gilberto Faria posted a mock Craigslist ad Thursday on Instagram, seeking a 185-pound opponent for his client.

Fucking weird...just a weird spot for Jacare. He wants a top 5 guy but the way the division is right now he pretty much has to take a fight outside that. Shitty, but at least he'll be getting paid. I'd hate to hear about more millionaire starving kids.

I just can't believe both sides settled on Boestch. The UFC didn't want to make Jacare earn his show and win money with a higher ranked guy? & Jacare didn't want someone a little more in their prime even if it was a step down in competition? Camozzi wasn't free for a 3rd fight? lol

#2 vs #14 makes sense

1 Yoel Romero - beat Weidman. Will accept nothing other than title
2 Luke Rockhold - Honestly, makes sense
3 Jacare Souza - n/a
4 Chris Weidman - CTE is a thing
5 Gegard Mousasi - Contract negotiations...
6 Robert Whittaker - 6 win streak, again a great option
7 Anderson Silva - Old, no need to see him get beat up
8 Derek Brunson - coming off a loss
9 Vitor Belfort - already booke with fatty mcgee
10 Kelvin Gastelum - got AARP's newest member in next fight
11 Tim Kennedy - Timmy got fatty fucked
12 Krzysztof Jotko - Not a name worth fighting
13 Uriah Hall - coming off loss
14 Tim Boetsch - MAKES ALL THE SENSE IN THE WORLD! BOOK IT!!!!
15 Thales Leites - Who?

Yes 2 vs 14 sounds like it makes sense but who really thinks Tim is the 14th best middle weight?! Alvey, JAck Marshman and Ellias Therodu aren't ranked but would probably all be favorites vs Tim. Heck I would have preferred Dan Kelly take this fight at least he's earned it.

Man I disagree, Boetsch doesn't make a lot of sense in my eyes. Boetsch is gonna be a +500 underdog give or take.

Not sure what's up with Rockhold, and I'm too lazy to look into it but iirc they were already booked once, I think, and it didn't happen.

Whitaker would be the best option, excluding Rockhold.

Alvey, Elias and Marshmann don't make any sense. And Dan Kelly fits into not making a lick of sense either.

Id say excluding Rockhold and Whitaker, Jotko and Leites would've been the best 2 options. And Brunson, despite coming off a loss, I'd prefer that one over anyone else besides Whitaker and/or Rockhold.

Brunson despite coming off a loss would be the underdog to Jacare but I wouldn't completely count him out. He'd offer a good fight for Jacare.

seriously thou WTF is this shit..i guess it doesn't hurt to try to give Souza another HL reel before Souza faces the champ..SoG has to be next in line, then Souza..and I kinda expect Souza to annouce that he'll wait for next shot if he beats Tim..

Hey hey hey I never said Alvey, Marshman or Ellias were good fights or fights that made sense. I just said they all make more sense that Boestch lol. I just really can't understand how he ended up with this fight since at least the 3 guys I mentioned could one day be top ranked guys and we all know Tim won't ever be.

You know what's the weirdest thing about Tim to me? He seem to lose fights he's "supposed to/should" win (well over the hump hendo, Ed Herman), and wins fights he should lose (Okami, Samman, Lombard).

I just don't see how this fight makes ANY sense. Jacare is up there for a title shot, but whatever he'll run through Tim pretty easily IMO. TKO or Submission.

Don't mind me.

I see what you were saying, I read that differently the 1st time around.
