In what was one of the weirdest endings to a fight in mixed martial arts (MMA) history, Jorge Masvidal was awarded the technical knockout (TKO) victory over Jake Ellenberger after Jake’s foot got stuck in the fence during last night's (Sat., Dec. 3, 2016) Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 24 Finale "Johnson vs. Elliot" event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Unbeknownst to him, Masvidal proceeded to rain down strikes on Jake before Herb Dean out a pause in the action to clarify the rules with representatives from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

After a brief discussion, Jorge was given the TKO win since Jake couldn’t "intelligently defend himself." And how could he with his toes stuck in the cage? As a result of the bizarre ruling, "The Juggernaut" plans to appeal the loss.

Very unfortunate to the end of the fight but unfortunately, I don't see how he can win an appeal. I hope that is not the end of Ellenbergers UFC run.

The person I feel most bad for here is Masvidal, that was his best UFC fight so far against a tough guy and this unfairly marred his performance. He didn't need any help from the fence to finish Jake.

I think the real winner here is Ellenberger. Dude was getting dominated on the feet and looked like he was going to get finished or just embarrassed. I feel for the dude, but he needs to stay in the middle of the pack.

Exactly, maybe I'm in the minority but Jorge was beating that ass and it wasn't exactly his fault Jake went for some fighting shit and got his toe caught in the fence. He was getting touched up before that, as far as I'm concerned Herb saved Jake from another 10 minutes of beating. But of course it's Masvidal, so he will prob get screwed.

His toe was in the linkage. Not stuck in the mat. Or where they join, there was no Malfunction. Jake got his own foot stuck. Two choices, protect yourself from the strikes or get your foot out opening yourself up for strikes. Unfortunate for jake but the right call. Only way there should have been a time out is if Jorge stepped off allowing herb to call a time. But Mas vidal is smarter then that and went for the kill.

Was it? When I saw the replay it looked like it got wedged between mat and cage but I haven't seen it since night of

It was absolutely stuck between the mat and the cage. This should be a no contest.
