After 71 years the Chicago Cubs have FINALLY reached the World Series. They will be going up against one of hottest cities in sports right now in the Cleveland Indians. In what is sure to be the highest rated games in the history of baseball, who do you think wins this year's World Series?

I'm pulling for the Cubs myself. Back when I was around 10 years old, the only baseball games we could watch was the Tigers on the local station, and Cubs on WGN and Braves on TBS. I followed the Cubs back then when they guys like Greg Maddox, Ryan Sandberg, Shawn Dunston, Andre Dawson, Mark Grace, etc.

Huzzah! Excelsior! As a lifelong cubs fan, it's about damn time we get rewarded for sticking by them through all the bad years, and there have been a bunch of them. And to answer the question of whether or not it's a big deal, it kinda is in terms of baseball history. Like was mentioned in the original post, it had been 71 years since the cubs had BEEN to the world series, and you have to go all the way back to 1908 for the last time they won the world series until now, a span of 108 years, longest world series drought in MLB history I believe. The Indians were the team with the second longest drought, though with the cubs beating them that makes them the team with the longest span between championships.
