No.

I'm a big fan, but no.

IMO he is too one dimensional to be a considered the GOAT . Still a badass though

I could even make a valid case for GSP as GOAT. His 19 career UFC wins are an all-time high and he's 12-2 in Title defenses. That's not so shabby but then again it's a matter of perspective.

When you look at the guy he's tied with for the most wins on the biggest stage, Michael Bisping has 7 losses in comparision to GSP's 2.

Current fighters like Jon Jones, Mighty Mouse, and RDA are gonna even have a say in this depending on how the rest of their MMA carerr's unfold.

In all honesty I think there shouldn't even be a "GOAT" or "Greatest P4P". Those titles are waaaaaayyyy to broad.

What I prefer is it to be broken down by weight class. It is much easier imo, and you don't run into stupid hypotheticals about GSP fighting JJ etc..

But what about a man who transcends weight classes??

Cross that bridge when/if it needs to be crossed IMO

Nobody to date has had enough success in multiple weight classes for the argument to even be made about them.

Thats what im saying. Dan Henderson FOUGHT EVERYBODY. Literally the only people he didnt fight were Chuck Liddell and Jon Jones.

He BEAT the 2 greatest heavyweights of all time(Fedor & Big Nog) while beating some of the greatest legends ever at light heavyweight and middleweight.

Anderson Silva and GSP refused to test themselves at higher weights. Thats why i think POUND 4 POUND, Hendo especially if he beats Bisping to finally win a UFC title, will be the greatest for awhile.

To be fair, Silva's gone up to 205 a few times, not against the best competition but still. I said no He's not the GOAT. He's my favorite fighter and has had a pretty amazing career, but I think his skill set is too limited & he has too many losses (the Jake Shields one is a glaring one for me). Unfortunately, right now I think Jones is the GOAT.

Dan Henderson isn't even in my top 5. He Emmitt Smith'd his way into a fairly impressive list of accomplishments, but he's just lost too many fights and had too many asterisks after fights that he did win for him to be the greatest of all time.

Its simple, really. Dan Henderson in his prime would have probably lost consistently to multiple fighters at 185 and/or 205. Any fighter you can say something similar about is instantly disqualified from being a GoaT contender.

Dan Henderson has simply been a very good fighter for a very long time...and there's nothing wrong with that.

No. Hendo is and will be an all time great regardless of the bisping fight. But, goat? No. Not close. An explanation isn't needed..especially when he will be gifted this title shot.

You would have to say his longevity would play a part in him being considered top 10 p4p greatest MMA all time.. I think this title shot is ridiculous but win or lose I don't think it impacts his legacy in the slightest.

He's just simply got all the boxes ticked, beaten the who's who of MMA, held belts everywhere and in more than 1 division, fought in multiple divisions. You could argue the UFC championship but you have to judge it more on the way he fights and who he fought.

If he beats Bisping, he is in the orbit of an elite tier of all-time fighters. All I know is, he is at least one spot higher than Fedor is on the GOAT list.

I voted false just bc my boy Andy completely embarrassed Forest who was just one fight removed from holding the LHW belt but I get where you are coming from 40 ounce and I completely agree with you. It's not about the record its about collecting heads. Randy Couture, Bj Penn and even in kickboxing you have Aerts. Those 3 dudes are fighting legends and to me Randy's loss to Brock or Bj's loss to Lyoto or Aerts loss to Reem do nothing to hurt their stock. IMO it only bolsters it. I have much more respect for their legacies than a guy like GSP who I can't recall ever taking a fight where he didn't have an advantage in size. To me a true GOAT is willing to fight anyone. I truly think Andy's loss to DC did more to help his legacy than hurt it. 2 days notice, coming off a surgery, opponent's strength is his biggest weakness and when the fight was over everyone in the crowd was cheering Andy's name.

It's an interesting matchup this go round. Both guys are different, Hendo is slower and less mobile than ever, although still powerfully and rightly dangerous. But Bisping has increased his boxing tenfold since their last fight. If the fight goes into deep waters I think Bisping takes the decision but Hendo, if he can get his hands on him early it'll be a short night for Bisping.

*For the record they announced this fight @ UFC 200 this past weekend*
