That would probably be an appropriate punishment for his first offense. At this point, anything short of five years or even a lifetime ban is just...puzzling.

I admit I was in favor of disciplinary actions taken against Pallhares in the past but now I am fully committed to saying he is being unfairly treated. You have Jones who, on the other hand, almost killed another person while under the influence and he simply receuves a slap on the wrist. Do any of you think Pallhares has grounds for a lawsuit against the ufc and athletics commissions?

Jones was never charged with being under the influence during his hit and run and his actions weren't during an event sanctioned by an Athletic commission so they have no authority to punish him.

Since Palhares hasn't been fighting for the UFC in 2 years and given that his latest foul happened in WSOF I'd say its extremely unlikely he could successfully sue the UFC. Perhaps he could try to sue the Athletic commission but I don't see how he's been unfairly treated. He's repeatedly tried to injure opponents after they've submitted and after referee's have tried to stop him.

Palhares is a horrible person he deserved lifetime ban.....he is intentionally trying to hurt opponents.

Not just holding subs too long but please watch Jake shields get his eyes gouged like 7-8 times.....

Palhares is scum......jones did something on his leisure time.....he should a got punished more but these are 2 way different cases.

There is no analog to what Palhares has done.

He is in the ring, working, and repeatedly endangering his opponent. Worse than everyone mentioned in this thread as far as his JOB, though I agree what Jones did may be worse as a private citizen.
