Confirming long-standing rumors, GLORY kickboxing events will no longer air on Spike TV. After a run of more than a dozen events dating back to 2013, Spike will no longer air the top kickboxing organization's shows. The network confirmed the news with MMA Fighting on Tuesday.

A sign that Glory is going under..IMHO Glory was never shit to begin with..from bring in top fighter to paying their champions like shit..and their top guys weren't shit..not like the good ol days of K1..each division was so shallow, it got boring real quick..I really do hope thou someone in the right mind frame with being back great action..fuck all this kickboxing, go with Muay Thai rules for the fighter now and days and see how good some of these kick boxers really are..would love to see how likes of top kick boxers handle Muay Thai rule against other good kickboxer/Muay Thai fighters

Thai rules with mma gloves would be the most exciting fight style you could create. I have no clue why it hasn't happened yet.

I think you'd need to modify them a bit, too many eye pokes with the open fingered gloves. This sucks, I loved watching Glory.

Me too...

They will do better in europe they are already putting on better shows over there.

It costs money to put on US shows they will save money focusing on europe.

Usa doesnt even know the names of the guys fighting and there are no real elite american kickboxers for them to get behind.

Glory is great i thoroughly enjoy their shows some of the most elite kickboxing around.

I could see them partnering with RIZIN and having some guys on rizin cards.

I read in fighters only mag this was going down.

Also SPIKE is considering starting their own kickboxing promotion which i would imagine would focus on America's top guys but thats just my assumption.

With how many people I talk to about fighting, none of them know what Glory or K1 even is...it's sad but the US is not going to get behind kickboxing now that they are hooked on MMA. People will watch one fight and say why isn't he taking the other guy down and as soon as they learn that it's not allowed they will state that the sport sucks compared to the UFC...just being honest about what I see all the time.

It makes sense with underperformed viewer ratings.

I don't know what other broadcasting partners they could pick up... AXS TV or NBCSN? Who knows. Maybe Bellator and GLORY will do another "Dynamite" card and make it better than the first card. It's unfortunate the first "Dynamite" a couple months ago only got 800,000 viewers.

This is too bad, I caught several of their cards and they really delivered. There were some awesome kickboxing matches, close, competitive with violent endings. Really liked the HW Tournament Qualifier card and Lightweight Tourney card.

It's strange, they were doing much better numbers than I thought they could, getting into the 800K range several times.

I tried to get behind kickboxing, love going to live shows, but there's more than enough MMA on TV that I don't have to substitute my viewing with a lesser product. The best finishes are mis-matches, rarely a good underdog win, and too many rules. Feels like I'm watching any other televised martial art (except BJJ, casue it's BA). Can't say I'll miss not watching this...
