Just to put things in perspective are the following links. MMA holds a tiny fraction of viewers that watch sports.

The 50 Most-Watched Sporting Events of 2012

The 50 Most-Watched Sporting Events of 2013

The 50 Most-Watched Sporting Events of 2014

When they say American football dominates the ratings, they aren't kidding. At the bottom of those links you will see Most-Watched Events By Sport/League, which does the best job of putting things in perspective on one screen. MMA is fighting for position with WCBB. The most ppv they have ever sold was just over 1 million, used to have a chart for that too, and the most tv views is just over 4 million, while the most recent Suberbowl peaked at 112 million.

We fucking know that this sport has a small following...shit this site has less than 1000 people playing nowadays!

From the article, first paragraph: The NFL accounted for 24 of the 26 most-watched sporting events in 2014, including the top nine. The Super Bowl was the year’s top program as usual, with an all-time TV record 112.2 million viewers. The Seahawks/49ers NFC Championship Game ranked second (55.9M) and the Patriots/Broncos AFC title game third (51.3M).

That's not 12 million...that is 112.2 million! 112.2 million people watched the Superbowl! Holy fucking shit!

I wanted to show people how the numbers have changed, slightly, over the past few years, but even then, those numbers don't mean anything if there is nothing else to compare it to. UFC viewer ratings seem a nice umbrella to cover everything. Actually, the 2nd and 3rd links do not have that headline. I just changed the one from 2012 to match the years.

Sorry for the confusion. Don't shoot the messenger, eh.
