Diego Sanchez is set to make his debut in his fourth different UFC weight class.

Sanchez (25-7 MMA, 14-7 UFC), who won “The Ultimate Fighter 1? as a middleweight and eventually made an unsuccessful lightweight title bid, is heading to 145 pounds for a fight with former title challenger Ricardo Lamas (15-4 MMA, 6-2 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 79.

UFC officials today announced the bout.

He already looks like a skeleton at LW. Could be a very entertaining matchup but I see Lamas getting the UD here.

I was expecting a much easier fight than Lamas for Diego. He's in for a long night I think.

Would have rather seen a Guida rematch honestly.

Lamas is going to make Diego look slooooooow. Diego wasn't particularly quick at WW back in his prime. Lamas is going to make him look like he is in quicksand...

Diego by split tho

Even faster fighters then he faced before are going to mess him up as bad or worse. Don;t see this going well for Sanchez if he doesn't land a lucky lunging punch.

Not only will he be glacial in speed there will be no padding for his poor brain and he'll be brutally finished.

People always seem to forget about the whole protective juice around the brain thingy.

It is the last thing to rehydrate and is the primary argument against big weight cuts. The reason for most boxers brain damage is a mix between the heavy padding of the glove and lack of protective fluid around the brain. It causes the brain to rattle around and can lead to brain damage.

Even poor GSP is saying he got out of the game too late and his fight with Hendrix messed up his head.

Yeah, I agree all...this is a bad fight. Sanchez is going to look like shit and perform like an old ass man. He's tough as fuck and all but this is not a good idea.
