Before you completely start discounting "Bones," check out the reasoning behind his claim by diving in below.

I don't know. Depends how Jones bulks up. If he can gain some muscle I think he'd have a shot but I think Cain is a terrible match up for Jones because he's a cardio machine with non-stop aggression and takedowns. I just think he will bully him like he did Junior. Atleast Junior had punching power though.

I think you under sell jones a bit, I picture a fair bit of this fight standing clinching against the cage, jones is the master at strikes from that position...he hasn't got that clean ko but he definitely rocks his opponents his elbows are brutal. I think early on in jones championship career his cardio was a little bit of a problem in the later rounds, but as he has continued to win and go to 5 rounds he has gotten a much better gas tank. Look at the Gustafsson fight for example... He was busted up pretty good and was out working gus in the fifth. He out lasted Cormier who has been a hw for the majority of his career and who would most resemble Cains grinding style... Which is another point.

Jones is bigger than Cain and would easily outstrike him. More well rounded, although Cain does have sick wrestling.

I think it would be a very competitive fight. The article talks about there not being much of a size difference and Jones thinking that would help him in a fight with Cain. I personally think that Jones could use distance and beat Cain up from the outside and never even get involved in a clinch, but if he did find himself in a clinch situation, I'm not sure anybody in the business is better there than he is, and if I were going to pick someone a few months ago it probably would have been Cormier. Obviously the big advantage that Cain would have would be some serious KO power. Regardless it would definitely be a cool fight to watch.

I would like to see it as well.

The way he dismantled Cormier has given him some well deserved confidence.

I don't see Jones losing to a fireplug wrestler. It'll be a tall striker with good TDD (ala Gustafson or Johnson.)

Gus arguably beat him already.

If Jones can leave the Coco alone and Cain can stay healthy, I think its a great match-up. I think Cain would take it but not by stoppage.

I doubt this match happens.

But I think Jones should take a heavyweight bout

Cain clobbers Jones everywhere. He'll concave Jones face in like he did Dos Santos.

I love JDS, and Jones kinda rubs me the wrong way, but Jones>JDS IMO.

Are you kidding me? Cain is a beast and he has whooped people who are much bigger than him. Lets see if Jones can beat DosSontos first which I highly doubt.
