We knew there was something in the air way up there in Albuquerque, N.M. What we didn’t know is that there’s also apparently something in the water.

We’re not talking the usual American tap water cocktail of arsenic and copper, either. We’re talking vision quest-quality hallucinogens here. The good stuff. The oh-no-my-face-is-melting stuff.

They forgot the most obvious one.....

Sanchez over Kampmann.....lol, Martin beat him to a bloody pulp and still somehow lost a decision. I thought Pearson won last night but I thought there were worse robberies than last night.

The title of this thread is very apt. That decision was atrocious.

After that fight. I lost the taste and interest to even watch the main event

This does not compare to the Kampmann-Sanchez robbery. Sanchez looked like Freddy Krueger after that fight. This was most definitely a robbery of the highest order though. Diego may, MAY have had a case for round three... But really, he was just swinging wild the last 30 seconds of each round, mostly hitting air. Should have been a clear cut W for Pearson.

I honestly think R1 & 3 were a lot closer than people want to admit

I thought the decision last night was worse. Diego landed some decent shots on Kampmann, and had him rocked. It didn't appear Ross was in any danger this fight, and clearly outstruck Diego. Either way, they both were terrible decisions.

Does anyone know if Sanchez has admitted at all that the decision was controversial?

I watched the post fight press conference, and he did indeed say the 30-27 was wrong, but he thought he won a UD. He thought he hurt Ross a few times, and was pressing forward the whole fight.

At the VERY least the judging in this sport needs some accountability. After a controversial decision like this, how often do we hear opinions and speculation about the decision from everyone involved in the sport EXCEPT the judges. Once in awhile you might get a guy like Cecil Peoples making some vague comment about his scoring decisions.

But we know who the judges names are and what was written on the scorecards, they're not anonymous people if we have this information and yet they're mostly unknown entities. Why no interviews with the judges? They should be available for comment by press and they should be able to give a technical break down for their reasoning behind the decision and not some vague comment about "effective control" or some other BS. Maybe they would at least be encouraged to learn the sport and shy away from controversial decisions knowing they would have to back them up.

At least he showed some dignity I guess...
I hope they throw him to the wolves for his next fight: Diaz or Bobby Green would do.

I don't know if people didn't watch the fight or what is going on. Round 1 was absolutely up in the air. 2 was Pearson's. 3 was Diegos. I dont agree with the decision but worst decision ever? MMA news is turning into FOX. Ludicrous.
