When Shane Carwin felt the UFC's heavyweight title slipping through his hands, he knew something had to be changed.
Unfortunately, the slimmed-down behemoth now believes he may have gone a little too far with his plan.
Eyeing a 2012 return to the cage, Carwin now says he needs to strike a happy medium somewhere between the ripped gargantuan that gassed in a UFC 116 matchup with Brock Lesnar and the svelte cruiserweight that was battered for 15 minutes by Junior Dos Santos at UFC 131.

I'd like to see a rematch with Lesnar sometime next year.

Too bad we can't see Carwin-Einemo... Oh well! I think Carwin has a good future in the UFC. Everyone has to lose sometime, they can't all be first round TKO's in your favor.
He's gassed himself after failing to capitalize on a TKO opportunity and was subsequently submitted. Then he had the holy hell stomped out of him in a fairly one sided bout with Junior Dos Santos.
He's been through a lot in his first two career losses. But I believe he will learn from those fights, and come back better. He may not be crushing everyone in the first round, but at the UFC level, few mixed martial artists do.

Stylistically, Carwin does not match up well with Cain and JDS or with any HW who is fast and or has quick hands.
He should be able to bounce back and dominate most fighters in the HW division.
One fight I would like to see is Carwin vs Overeem. I know there are talks of Overeem vs Cain or JDS but IMO, Overeem will be too slow for those guys. I think Overeem matches up well with Carwin.
