Dan Hardy and Dustin Hazelett have verbally committed to meet in a welterweight bout at UFC 119 tentatively scheduled for Sept. 18 in Hardy’s home country of England, according to multiple sources close to the negotiations.

The UFC read my mind, or my post (prolly neither) I was wondering who Hardy would fight. If Hardy was able to beat Swick, Hazelett should be easier imo. I hope Hazlett wins, he creates some ill moves, and ill submissions are always welcome by me. I also hope he wins because he could have some good fights vs Pyle Howard lytle and other ww's, or he could get cut... and that would suck

Would rather see Matt Hughes Vs Hardy. But OK lets see this :) hopefully this time Hazelett will take it too the ground, and hardy will show us some more sick submission tolerence

I can see it ending the same way as Dustin's fight with Semtex

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the playground is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no props, and may the mods have mercy on your soul.

man, mc lovin is one of my favorites. he comes from a long lay off just to eat daleys punches. he wasn't ready. and this time again it's a bad match up for him. i don't wanna see him get cut, just because he had such a bad injury and no time to improve for his comeback.

Edit: Just read the update, the fight is not going to happen. at least for now. good!

"Update: Hardy-Hazelett Off for UFC 119

Although Dan Hardy and Dustin Hazelett initially committed to meet in a welterweight bout tentative for September or October at UFC 119 in Hardy’s home country of England, the bout was scratched Thursday afternoon due to scheduling conflicts.

Hazelett has withdrawn from the bout, as he will be getting married in September, a source told Sherdog.com. Hardy is expected to remain on the card against a new opponent."

If Hazelett isn't good enough to compete with top guys the UFC shouldn't go out of their way to keep him. I say that as a big fan of his.

This matchup just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I think it's an interesting fight, but these two are miles apart in the rankings. Hazelett is a young guy that probably could be brought up a little more slowly after his destruction at the hands of Daley, and Hardy is a contender that should be fighting much higher ranked competition.

Edit: Good news--hopefully Hardy gets a top ten opponent.

Generelly yes, that's right. But this guy is young with awesome bjj talent. he had a very bad knee injury it looks like he needs much more improvment in the stand up departement. what i'm saying is, as far as ranking goes, he isn't a contender yet, so why feeding him to a guy who just fought for the title? Give him some time to readjust after his lay off, that's all.
