BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Jon Jones, Junior Dos Santos, John Howard and Clay Guida each earned $50,000 bonuses for their performances at Sunday's UFC on Versus 1 event.

For the first time ever, the organization dished out three "Knockout of the Night" awards (to Jon Jones, Junior Dos Santos and John Howard), a single "Submission of the Night" bonus (Clay Guida) and no "Fight of the Night" honors.

I like this, these guys deserved it.

So it's two KOs of the night, one fluke injury of the night, and one submission of the night. If Jones got a bonus Sakara should have as well. Jones clearly won under the rules, but there was certainly not a KO involved.

I disagree. Ending a fight with a hard elbow that may have fractured a fighter's orbital bone is not a fluke, especially considering Jones's history with horrifying elbows. The impact of that elbow was audible, and any fighter that can force his opponent to wave off a fight from something that well placed deserves some recognition.

Jones has the tools to beat Machida. He needs a title shot ASAP. His wins are much more impressive than Dan Hardy's. The only fighters that I want to see Jones against are Rampage, Machida and the Spider. No one else would give him much of a fighter.

Let's not get crazy here. I think the win over Vera puts Jones in the Top 10, no higher than #5, probably around 7-9.

1: Machida
2: Shogun
3 & 4: Rashad and Lil Nog, not necessarily in that order
5-9: Randy Couture, Ryan Bader, Thiago Silva, Forrest Griffin and Jones. Again, not necessarily in that order, I'd have to think about it some more.

I excluded Rampage because he hasn't fought in more than a year, which is my cutoff for automatic removal. If Machida beats Shogun and Rampage beats Rashad, I'd put Rampage at #2. Rich Franklin is another wildcard, and a year from now we might be talking about Phil Davis the way we're talking about Jon Jones today.

Jones needs to beat one of the other guys in his 'group', imo - Couture, Bader, Silva or Griffin - to get into title contention talk.

He's 22 and still has not reached his peak; every fight out he's showing something new. Let him grow up a little more in the cage.

Once he's figured out the big picture and can focus on finetuning the minor details, maybe then it would be time for a fight against somebody in the upper tier of the light heavyweights.

Well on a side note, sakara has 3 wins in a row now after the irvin win.

Dos Santos was my favorite fighter on the night. He was all over Gonzaga and never let up. This kid is going places in a hurry. He and Jon Jones alike nee3d to be tested with a top five guy in their next fights. And Damn John Howard came out to destroy

Vera has been missing his muah thai clinch imo.
Jon Jones is top 10 and has more potential.
I say he gets a top fighter next, like lil nog(if he beats forrest)
Rampage if he beats Rashad
if not
bader, randy or thiago r good also

I think Bader or Thiago personally. He is not yet ready for Machida or Shogun.
