The six winners in the International Fight League’s World Grand Prix, which will conclude on Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., will be exempt from some team competitions in 2008, according to Xtreme Couture Mixed Martial Arts trainer Shawn Tompkins.

“Once [a fighter] becomes Grand Prix champion, he is not required to be at every team event any longer,” said Tompkins, the longtime trainer for lightweight contender Chris Horodecki.

Same date of UFC 79 !!

Not a good way to have many peoples whatching it on there TV !!!

Well, unless I can find a feed, that shows the UFC PPV, i'll tune it.. That is of course if it's on network tv.. I can always multi-task and read the spoilers, and watch it.. I'm good like that..

Actually, it would work well. The IFL event would air sometime between 8-10 PM ET (MyNetworkTV goes off at 10). The PPV part of UFC 79 wouldn't start until 10 PM ET. So it's just remembering to switch over to PPV when IFL is over.
